Riot, I think you need to acknowledge the best ship in LoL

That is, of course, Gnar x Shyvana.

Shyvana is a half-dragon of questionable emotional stability. She falls to her anger and becomes a fire-breathing engine of destruction. As a result, she seems broody and closed-off from the world.

Gnar is someone she can relate to. A tiny Yordle with a similar situation to her own. His anger gets the better of him, and he becomes a rampaging beast. But, he clearly doesn't let this get him down. When not transformed, he's a happy-go-lucky Yordle. From his example, Shyvana might be inspired to live happier, despite her nature.

And then she can go on awesome Dragony adventures with her plushy, adorable Yordle.

According to a Q&A about Gnar, he's not actually aware that he transforms (though that may change as he gets older), nor does his personality change to that of a rampaging beast. In Riot's words, he's a tantrum incarnate. He's a kid throwing a tantrum because people are picking on him.

Though I can see a relationship forming, but I think it would be more like a motherly connection from Shyvana. Maybe helping Gnar, teaching him to control his transformation, and in the process developing protective feelings for the little ball of energy.
