A few thoughts on mini VGUs

With Ezreal coming it seems mini VGUs are going to become a regular thing(i hope at least). Easier,faster,safer to make it seems like a Win-Win scenario for Riot. I truly hope there is a dedicated team focused soley on these releasing them every 2-3 months or so.

Here are some i would personaly like to see: 1.Jarvan - Doesnt live up fully to his fantasy of a warrior prince, outdated visuals and a few parts of the kit, mainly passive and W in need of updates. 2.Hecarim - Fitting him in better with the Shadow Isles general look and maybe updating how his charging works. 3.Caitlyn - Mainly visual stuff while also maybe making her less oppresing. 4.Jax - Super stat checky and simple, not realy living up to his fantasy of a grandmaster of combat, also his base model needs some serious love.

They mentioned that the FULL VGUs they have been pulling this year are super time consuming and work intensive and that the team is really burnt out right now so they're going to walk them back for 2019

This year we got 5 full VGUs and one mini VGU: Swain Irelia Aatrox Akali Nunu and now Ezreal

Hopefully next year we get 3-4 full VGU ( Kayle Morgana Mordekaiser Pantheon ) and 2-3 minis because I like the idea of updating outdated champions that have fine gameplay like Jax JarvanIV and Riven

I would like to see 4 new champs though as I feel personally 3 is too few and there is right now a massive gap between Pyke and Flower champ with nothing in between to tide us over.

I know not many people might agree with me but Varus could use an Ezreal sized VGU, with all the drastic changes to Lore and all.

He literally just needs a new model, animations, and a visual update to his abilities.

Reav3 mentioned JarvanIV as well as Kennen Jax and Blitzcrank for a similar update to Ezreal

I am still of the opinion that Jax needs a full VGU instead of a minor VgU. I don't think he needs an Ezreal level VgU. I think he needs a Nunu level VGU.

For the Ezreal level, I believe these champions would benefit the most, because none of them really need heavy kit work or overhauls, and they all just need some visual love to modernize them. Some, like Ahri, Lux, and Lee, are insanely popular, and just need the new looks so they don't look shit awful since Riot has a habit of keeping them more up to date from a gameplay perspective to the point where they wouldn't qualify for a full VGU: Ahri Caitlyn Kennen LeeSin Leona Lulu Lux Nautilus Orianna Riven Talon Varus Veigar XinZhao Ziggs Sona

I imagine there being a line somewhere with all the champs waiting patiently for a VGU of some kind and Riot is the bouncer bringing a few of them into the club at a time

I want the champions they've already "touched up" to be redone with better animations, VO, etc. Shen, MF, Alistar, whoever else might be on this list. Their updates were really lazy, and even if their kits are in a good place now(which I'm thankful for) they lack completely in smooth animations and expansive voice overs we've come to expect from modern VGU's. I've complained about this a number of times, but as a MF and big Shen fan it sucks knowing that champs I love aren't going to get the treatment they deserved for a really long time because Riot sees the bare minimum they've done as adequate.

MissFortune is a perfect candidate in my books. All they need to do is tweak her E so that is something more engaging to use, it is so clunky right now. Also, they might make he ultimate skin worth purchasing.

Caitlyn and Jarvan would be the least interesting of these candidates. Not to assume that I think they shouldn't get mini-VGUs, just that when it comes to this type of rework I'd rather see more effort into the visual changes and I wouldn't expect a lot of evolution for those two. Like Caitlyn loses the skirt and gets a more unique sniper, while Jarvan, as nearly the same warrior-prince they just update his armor's design to be more aligned with Demacia's new aesthetic. Really putting the 'mini' in mini-VGU.

Although personally, I'd rather see Jarvan updated first between the two. Because Cait's only issue is her outfit, but otherwise she's a pretty solid champion from skins to lore. But Jarvan doesn't quite have that same scope and I would want the writers to have more chances at fleshing out him and his ancestral lineage if reworking him was their only immediate opportunity to do so.

i like these choices especially jarvan who i have been thinking about what could be changed

his skills should represent characteristics of himself

q- uniqueness of his weapon expanding

w- use demacias will paladin esque style

e>q- he should do a rising shoulder charge to show off his strength maybe have something to do with his beast armor visually

r- should be a collection of his strength mixed with holy demacian power explosion/walls can be made of petrecite (what galio is made of)

Nobody cared about Jax's kit until conq was released

Jax does not need a gameplay update. He only needs a VU. And conq needs to be deleted
