These new splashes make me go "Hey, that's some awesome fanart"

You are not alone in your opinion, friend. All the dudes look awful and all the girls look way too anime to be in this game. Plus, they removed Gentleman Cho'Gath's pipe [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Some Karma and Sivir ones look like anime fanart. And Vindicator Vayne looks like a cosplayer in a slutty pose. Overall very low quality most of them, not at all worthy of a company with an art department as brilliant as Riot's.

They said that the splashes are not permanent. The goal is not to give the champions the nicest looking splash, but to globalize them. They're trying to release new artwork for all the champion's splashes. Just be a little patient. :)

And what's with that new general wukong splash art.. I saw that picture before and I thought that's the sun wukong from smite. lol

I completely agree with you. A lot of them just look ridiculous.

They are changing bad splash arts into a bit less bad splash arts, they should just put the time into something else

I personally LOVE the new Temple Jax splash, but I agree. It feels more of a wallpaper than it does a splash art.

I don't know, I really like some of the new ones, and others feel like an improvement (though they might not be that good).

New Silverfang Akali looks pretty good, a bit better than the old one in my opinion (which was also good). Annie in Wonderland looks a lot better. Prom Queen Annie looks better. New Safari Caitlyn looks younger, much closer to Caitlyn's age than the other one. (The old one just looks so old, and it's not just the tea.) Spectral Fiddlesticks looks pretty awesome. Sanguine Garen is more glorious. Hecarim's is a bit more dynamic. Irelia's splash looks a lot cleaner, and her hair actually looks black as opposed to silver. Infiltrator Irelia looks a lot cleaner and she's a lot prettier as well. Tempest Janna is an improvement. Headhunter Master Yi looks epic. (Though the old one was cool too, just not as cool.)

Those are the ones I feel strongly about. The other ones, I don't know. I definitely feel like some of them (many, in fact) were downgrades, and others were neutral. (Splash was bad in some ways, replacement was bad in other ways.)

This is all my opinion, of course. I agree with the fact that there were some good arts that we lost, but in exchange we did get some really nice splash arts (like Headhunter Master Yi) and lost some of the poor ones in exchange for slightly better ones.

(Also, I only looked through Surrender@20's first post of splashes. I now see that there are some new ones---both good and bad.) EDIT2: oh god Butcher Urgot is gone... his splash was so scary and awesome :( I'm so sad now. I'm happy about Irelia since I play her, but the Butcher Urgot change... t.t

and they don't really give the artists any credit either....
