The interlinking of the Augmented Warfare Alternate Universe. [PROJECT, MECHA, BATTLECAST]
Mecha. PROJECT. Battlecast. Steel Legion and most likely others. I believe they all share the same universe, one of which is vastly superior in tech compared to the Runeterra as we know it, and I believe I have an idea of how it began. Or at least I have a theory about it and how it would fit together.
It begins with Ryze's new lore, and his mission. In this universe, Ryze successfully managed to find every single World Rune and sealed them away / destroyed them, preventing anyone from having access to this world bending power. Magic slowly began to dissipate as the scars from the Rune Wars began to fade. The world naturally began to heal, and the barrier around Runeterra began to grow stronger (Most likely with Ryze's arcane protection) preventing things such as Void incursions, barring entry altogether or even Celestial interference. Technology began to quickly evolve as the corrupting interference had a much lesser effect on the world and magic slowly became more out dated and unreliable.
Now, with nowhere else left to return to, some of the Void Creatures that had crossed over were captured and experimented on by Viktor. Namely, Cho'Gath, Kog'Maw & Vel'Koz. Viktor, being fascinated by certain traits the Voidborn held, viewed each of the ones he had captured individually perfect in the tasks he had them created for. Large scale destruction, reconnaissance and data gathering. and so forth. When they were unleashed unto the world as a warning to resistance, Viktor offered solution in becoming joined with himself to become perfect or be utterly crushed. In response to this, Noxus initially wanted to be on Viktor's good side while they prepared plans for defense, and offered him Urgot. Discovering a source of power deep within the Shuriman underground that would most certainly benefit the creator, Skarner was discovered and also converted, unable to achieve his goal of defending his sleeping Bracken race and being utterly overpowered by the sheer power of the Battlecast. During this escapade Xerath was also encountered and subsequently captured. Viktor's 'Glorious Evolution' had begun.
In response to this, many other directives were created in an attempt to stop Viktor. The Yordles began to create massive sentinels of steel and size. Hearing of the legends of certain warriors, they re-created them as giants, towering over even the tallest of buildings. This was the Mecha Experiment. Malphite, Kha'Zix, Sion and Aatrox were the results. Unfortunately Sion became defective and turned Rogue, forcing the Yordles to prioritize hunting down and neutralizing the threat Sion possessed.
Demacia began to augment their warriors with technology as well. This force became known as the Steel Legion with Garen and his sister, Lux at the helm of the force. Noxus also did the same, with Darius and Singed being the results.
In the depths of now an extremely technology rich Ionia, another plan was in motion. The PROJECT series. The goal of this was to create the perfect soldier, unbending in combat. Yasuo was the first of the PROJECT line, having being eventually captured. Rather than be killed for a crime he didn't commit, Yasuo volunteered to the program, sensing that Ionia would need soldiers who were of pure skill and strength if they wised to survive in the world and oncoming wars. Through a constant series of experimentation, mental conditioning and augmentation, Yasuo was slowly transformed into an unrepentant killing machine. His first directive on the field was to capture Zed, the Master of Shadows. He completed this task flawlessly, slaughtering and instantly ending the Order of Shadows in a single day. PROJECT: Yasuo's reveal to the world showed exceeding success and encouraged warriors from all over the world to join the program. Nameless amounts of people joined. Lucian, seeking the power he needed to achieve his vengeance joined the program. Leona also wished to have a further hand in protecting now not just her own people, but the world found her way into the program. Fiora also wished to enhance her already flawless skills, and she also joined the program. Katarina, on a scouting mission from Noxus to spy on the Ionians, ended up being captured and she was instantly turned to the PROJECT experiment. The Wuju Bladesman, Master Yi sensed that something may have been afoul in regards to the way Yasuo acted when he observed the silent warrior, and investigated the facility. In the ensuring chaos he was shocked to see that those who had volunteered had their bodies replaced and their minds altered. Some were resistant to the program, such as Fiora, Ashe, Lucian and Ekko. They began to realize and soon became fully aware of what the consequences of their choices turned out to be. Yi initially managed to free some of the PROJECT initiates, but was eventually captured himself. Not long after however he was also converted, but thanks to his actions a resistance formed among those who had been transformed, with Ashe at the helm of this resistance. He was eventually payed back for his deed before he could be fully and utterly transformed, his mind damaged but intact, and now free from the clutches of that facility.
I do honestly believe that this universe, the Augmented Warfare universe is vastly interconnected. I'm also not 100% sure on the Full Metal Line, so that's why I didn't include it. I hope y'all like my theory tho.
