What did Poros eat before Snax were in production?

Poro snax are dreams brought to the physical realm. Before that the little guys would lick the dreams oozing out of people's noses at night. That's why no one but poros want to eat the snax, they're not quite fit for anything that isn't made to survive on happiness and rainbows.

I believe poros were the apex predators during prehistoric times, their voraciousness and savagery nearly driving Gnar's and Skarner's species into extinction.

They have sharp teeth so in theory they could be the cleaners of the ice. Eating all the remains of dead animals & people.
