I have a feeling jhin has something to do with zed and the box he opened in the temple

Jhin was seemingly captured by Shen's father,Zed and Shen(though shen's dad most likely did most of the work back then)

However Jhin never got the chance to kill Shen's dad because Zed killed him first.

The "shadowy" thing is just used to describe that this is something that was done underhanded,its nothing that the whole council wanted(maybe not even aware of).

"Shadowy elements" feels like he's talking about shady business people with an agenda, (freeing a killer to hire him for a job)

you should see shen stopping jhin from killing someone with his 4th bullet in game. most annoying shit ever. i could see why he is frustrated with shen and his dad.

I don't think 'played a part' is the right phrase. He's more like a background element. It's good to know that he was there, but he doesn't actually impact Shen and Zed's story, not yet.

Jhin is more thank likely going to take part in the lore between Shen and Zed . They got most attention with the taunts and this most certainly build it up to the conclusion of probably adding in some key facts on how Jhin ties in with the two brother's father.
