Regarding the Cosmos/Universe

I think that the current Runeterra lore is extremely interesting, but I just don't really know where this space thing comes in. Personally, I don't really think that beings such as the Targons fit too much into Runeterra's lore; but that's just my opinion. I don't really know what Riot is planning in the future, but I hope there are good plans regarding the cosmos in the future. With that, here are some of my questions regarding the space aspect of the lore.

So from what I took out of the lore, Runeterra is virtually a planet by itself and there exists an entire universe yet to be explored. Of course, we also have the introduction of cosmic beings or entities like Aurelion Sol and maybe Bard? (Not really sure what Bard is though) And there are also the Targons who seemingly vanished into space.

My questions are as follows:

  • Does the universe in League work as the universe in the real world? Meaning do the stars follow the same cycle or are there magical? Are there black holes and such? Are there classifications such as galaxies? Did the universe come from the big bang?
  • What exactly are Cosmic beings like Aurelion Sol? Are they basically the gods of the universe? Are they living things? Immortal? An ancient race transcended like the Targons? Can they be killed? Where do they get their powers from?
  • How did the Targons trap Aurelion Sol and explored space? How did they even know that the jewels or whatever it is they used would capture a cosmic being if they have not seen the likes of Aurelion Sol before? Did they use technology like spaceships to space travel or was it more magical like flying the same way Aurelian Sol did?
  • Do aliens exist and will they make champions from other planets (aliens as in races from other words, not beings like Aurelion Sol)? Will there be lore based off other planets? If so, that would be interesting. Like maybe explore what happened to the Targons.
  • Is it possible for the Star Guardians to be canon seeing as how there is an entire unexplored universe out there? Pls pls riot!

Ok, that's about it for now. And btw, I wanted to thank Sharjo for his amazing summary of the lore so people like me who are too lazy to read all or Riot's lore can still get the gist of what's going on.

  • LoLs universe works similar to ours, but not exactly the same. For example the stars are made by Aurelion sol and fall apart eventually if he doesn't maintain them.It is also very likely that stuff like black holes and so on exist in LoLs cosmos as well, though we can't be sure.

  • Aurelion sol is known to be as old as the universe itself,as he(and some other beings) was born in the first breath of creation(which seems to be the equivalent of the big bang),however Aurelion is not a god and isn't completely immortal. It looks like he'll never die of old age,but he can be killed.

  • The targonians are spirits that travel from planet to planet by posessing someone on that planet.Pantheon for example is such a spirit, posessing the body of a human. If he wanted to travel to another planet,he'd leave the human body and posess one of another species of his target planet. The targonians are in general a magical advanced group, they don't seem to use technology.

  • And no,the star guardians won't be canon, after all it'd mean that Lux and so on would exist twice in the main universe.
