Varus should have been changed to a single father if anything

i would have prefered they just touched up the old lore but if they really wanted to change it they should have made him a father with no family aside from his son/daughter who is then slaughtered in a noxian invasion. aside from the fact that it would be cool to have a single father as a character, it would fit well and losing a child is a motivation infinitely stronger than losing a lover. i dont care if its a wife or a gay fiance? idk what theyre supposed to be but either way, the motivation for revenge in the new lore feels really weak and honestly i couldnt feel the characters pain as i read which is a bad sign, but unless you screw it up really freaking bad it would work much better to have him lose his child, the only family he has left.

And yes it does say that his daughter was caught by the void,so you have a father who lost his daughter right there in the game.

yeah i read what you posted, and i dont think you read what i did, or at least you didnt really get it. i was talking specifically about a single father (a single parent in general really) with only the child for his family

Well Kassas wife isn't mentioned in the lore,so it is possible that she is already dead.

Also I feel like you are a bit nitpicky about it having to be a single father.

i wont deny that its nitpicky but its undeniably different from a plain old father and its just something ive always loved in any kind of story or lore, not 100% what it is about it

Actually now that I think about it,was it ever said that Varus was a single father? We know that he had a son in the old lore,but it never mentioned anything about him having a wife or not(and exactly the same goes for Kassadin).

I did. he has no motivation for vegence. He tried to save his lover and got tricked by a darkin. old varus watched his town get destroyed his family murdered the last line of defence was the temple he was protecting so he grabed the bow to fight off the noxians the darkin latched to his anger and fueled the vegence.

Yeah then you didn't. The Darkin IS Varus. And he's vengeful because he was trapped in his bow by the Queen. The body he inhabits has nothing to do with his vengeful nature.

The Darkin side does. Reading is fundamental if you are going to make comments about lore. Use your eyes and reading comprehension before you post threads.

ps, in case you somehow dont realize, when people talk about varus as a character 99% of the time they are talking about the person not the darkin, and additionally and equally obvious the darkin =/= the person. you cant say "oh the darkin side has motivation for vengeance so that means the person does too" because they are not the same consciousness. and btw yes i read the bio and no matter what way i looked at it all i could see was a poor motivation for vengeance

So the death of his kind to almost being almost extinct ( 5 dark kins left) isn't compelling enough to have vengeance for? didn't know near genocide isn't a big deal.

i honestly do not understand how so many of yall do not understand that when people talk about varus they almost NEVER mean the darkin, 99% of the time we are talking about the person especially when saying his motivation for revenge was weak. honestly how hard is that to get...
