Way to copout on Eve

Dude, you have to remember that Eve is a high priority target for a VGU that would likely change her lore to a degree. What they did was gave us a "in the meantime" short story so Eve fans don't feel left out of the Shadow Isle update. It was never meant to be her updated long bio because they still have to figure things out with her. It was to give her some lore love & provide a glimpse of how Eve is in the current lore world (post retcon).

Would you rather they have done nothing & feel like they ignored her?

They said that she'll get a real lore update once she gets her VGU,we can be happy that she got anything at all considering that they completely overlooked her the last time they updated the shadow isles lore

In my opinion Evelynn really lacks a cohesive narrative identity in both her lore and her gameplay so I think it's rather nice they gave us something to somewhat cement part of that identity but also hint at what they have planned as a bit of a teaser,

Everyone's going on about how perfect it is for some reason when it's literally her old lore with a bit of a random fanfic tagged on :P

It's more of a way to sate Eve fans for the time being than a copout. It is no secret that she wont see any significant developments util her full VGU, including her lore. While they couldn't give us an origin story like the others, what they did give was a little glimpse into her life, as well as showing her behavior and personality.

Keep in mind when reading that she’ll likely be evolving from Runeterra’s most demonic killer-for-hire. For now, she’ll be doing what she does best: slipping into the shadows, waiting for the right time to reveal herself and a fully-fleshed story of her origins.

They way I see it, this is actually a way to tie in her old lore to some significance. Before (during the leagues time) she was a champion who was using her position to gather power/influence for reasons known only to her. So even after the Leagues re-write, we now know that she is more or less doing the same thing, which [for now] cements her position in the world.

And when she is updated, we'll finally see what her grand scheme is.

Haven't read it. Don't particularly intend to but it is a little disappointing that we have another mystery backstory character. Riot's been dipping into that well a fair bit recently.

Can't be worse than Rammus.
