What if they scrapped that skin and now they are making another one (hence the whole voting to choose)?

Doesnt mean the leak is fake, gotta wait and see, and the new champ kit looks believeable to me.

A 6 seconds duration CC on a level 1 ability made me question it from the beginning.

Depends on the type of ability, and how it works.

CC that's not as disabling is allowed to have a longer duration. As is CC that is interruptible.

If it's this new "sleep" we're hearing about, and it's breakable by being hit by a champion, it makes relative sense for it to have a long duration, as it won't really be useable to beat on you while stunned.

You can't beat on someone hit by Bard's ultimate, yet it's still a pretty powerful CC, since it gives you the time to reposition and prepare your skills to kill the enemy.

Same case here. If your jungler is nearby, hitting that CC is probably a guaranteed kill thanks to the reposition time and her ultimate in that leak was able to overwrite the enemy's flash as well.

These skills make her a too strong receiver for ganks in my opinion. I didn't believe the leak at all.

I'm just happy it wasn't a real leak. Leaks ruin the fun of being surprised about skins coming out and feel even worse when it turns out the champs you want skins for are not getting any, so you've got to wait months for the last leak to go through to have hope again, if another leak doesn't pop up before hand.

i dont see it like that. i see it like "hey this is a cool concept i can be excited for now im hyped for it to happen cause its happening and i know its happening" what i DONT like is teasers. sure teasers can be . . . interesting. but thats all it builds. it just builds interest. the jhin teasers with sona/garen/vi for example area great example of something silly. it was VERY interesting, all the things you could break down. discover, and see about the champion. but it meant nothing. there was no hype "hey what do these champs have in common, why are they here. whats special about them to be involved with jhin." it was hyping up something that ultimately didnt happen. interesting. but the hype they where attempting to generate meant nothing

i will take being informed of cool skin concepts WAY ahead of time. it doesnt diminish the value of the skin and i get to think in my head about how cool it is.

I really can not see it like that. I see it as months of knowing what to expect and not being able to be truly supersized by anything that comes out in that time frame. like they release a skin, try to hype it up and I'm just sitting here going "okay, so what? we already knew this was going to happen." Omega Squad Teemo for example was a great skin that almost came out of nowhere and was extremely satisfying. the newest batch of Star Guardian skins on the other hand were not exiting at all. The only one that wasn't mentioned in that leak was Ahri who ended up being the focal point of the whole thing.

In the end, its most likely we have two different views on the matter and that's not going to change. Hell, just saying I don't like leaks isn't going to keep them from happening, especially when people say they like them for some reason I will never understand. But that doesn't mean those of us who don't want leaked info should be forced to put up with months of leaked skins and such just cause some people enjoy them.

I bet anything most of the people who do enjoy leaks don't expect them to come out. They have the Road Map posts for this exact reason that don't go out and say what to expect for the next few months but instead tease info on new things down the road. On the other hand there is no way to avoid leaks if you keep up with Surrender@20 or even the Boards for that matter. someone WILL post it and then EVERYONE will talk about it.

And don't get me wrong. I don't mind finding out things early. but everything for the next 6 months is too much. That is half a year of nothing surprising down the pipe and hoping that there will be at least one skin that comes out that the leak didn't spoil.

It wouldn't be in such a short time. Skins can take 6 months or longer to get through the production pipeline, and the assets debuted for voting are just concept art.

If the leak is legit we could be seeing Dunkmaster Illaoi or the Steel Legion skins in the next patch along side the new champion Aldora. Usually when a leak comes out, solid evidence assuring that it is or isn't legit follows in the upcoming new PBE patch cycle that will be Tuesday, November 7th.

Also, earlier this year if I recall correctly. Riot Reav3 comfirmed in a Champion Roadmap that Illaoi would get a new skin in 2017 as well as a handful of others like Yorick, Cassiopia, Singed and Viktor which have all been released live already.

The illaoi post says "Choose the next Illaoi skin" so it doesn't make sense the "next" Illaoi skin is suddenly Dunkmaster

Like I said though, that isn't how skin production works. I wouldn't put it past Riot either to have a skin come out a week from now for Illaoi, and have us voting on her next skin that'll come out mid 2018 ~~nearly a year from now~~.

In that context, "Next" still works since the voting lasts until November 13th before production even begins on one of those 3 skin concepts, and the Illaoi skin that Reav3 said would be released in 2017 could hit the PBE on November 7th.

Whichever skin is chosen is going to be the "next" Illaoi skin, as in the one she gets after Void Bringer. We'd have to have already seen Dunkmaster, at least on the PBE, for it to come before this skin. They would have delayed the vote for the new skin by a week if Dunkmaster was going to the PBE Nov 7th. Which means that Dunkmaster would be after the voted skin, at best.

Also, skins don't take a year to make unless they're Ultimate level, and even then a lot of it is the design work. They've got the concept mostly locked down for these skins, which is why they're open to voting on them.

To clarify, I said that skins take 6 months or longer for production in my previous comment, especially since the only thing Riot has right now are these digital concept sketches that layout the thematic they're aiming for. The names, colors, model, assets, etc can all change each biweekly reveal/discussion that Riot stated they'll have with us once the voting ends mid November.

I've been in the pre-production/production phase of game asset design, and in the creative environment that art studios are. Things morph or skew from original concepts all the time. Especially if outside sources can offer input. Depending on how the pod works, it can be 3 months of concept, ideation, adjustments. Then 3 months plus of model, vfx, sfx, texture, animation production if it all goes smoothly.

Illaoi isn't Ahri. It'll be another 2 years before she even gets considered for another skin. There is no possibility of her getting 2 skins within a year.

Not necessarily. Riot did say that they wanted to try and give skins to more of the ones that haven't had them in awhile. So, with all the legendary skins of the popular champs out of the way they might keep the focus on some of the less loved champs for the next year and give them some more skins.

I've been quite excited for the new champion, but the kit in the supposed leak had me prepared to shun and permaban the champ in games indefinitely. I'll give them credit for the amount of thought put into it, I definitely have respect for that- but I personally despise the idea of a champion that could warp summoner spells to the extent of benefiting the enemy so greatly- I am open to experimenting with gameplay but that would completely defeat the idea of summoner spells and working with their timing. If you take up flash/barrier/ignite etc and save it for a time when it would save you/yield a kill, your penalty is waiting for it to be up again and playing around its use wisely- having another champion completely warp its safety net/use and timing is simply repulsive gameplay imo. I love the mechanic of summoner spells and following them and forcing them on opponents etc, it'd be a bit of a bother to me if that were able to be changed by a single champion. If the new champion is to have any relation to summoner spells as some have theorized I'll have to see exactly what is to be done, I have faith in Riot, and I'm sure whatever the kit is someone will find it enjoyable, even if it does end up a permaban for me, or is exactly what was leaked [sg-zephyr]

Luckily the leak says that the Giant Butterfly ult could only change the summoner spells of a single person it hits, so in a team fight or an enemy team attempting Baron/Dragon, "Aldora" would have to be pretty spot on with her ult placement. Also, who knows how long her cooldown on that kind of ult would be, and/or if the enemy champion needing to use the new Dawn/Twilight spells to restore their previous Summoners. Would it put them on full or partial cooldown once restored?

I believe OP is operating on the idea that the leak included a skin of Illaoi, while a set of skin options to vote for in regards to Illaoi was just released. The idea that these two skins would not follow one another so closely(as it is uncommon for skins to come out for a single champion with such a short time in between) it's a fair assumption to make that the leak is inaccurate.

I'm not that big of a followers of leaks, but has there been leaks that were partially correct? Or has it always been all right or all wrongs?

If it's the latter case, then I suppose OP's reasoning is sound.

I'm just coming to my first year of playing, so I cannot say comparatively over a wide span- I know of leaks that were completely incorrect, and one that was completely correct. It is certainly possible for a leak to be partially correct(though I do not know of any that have displayed this trend), as I believe there have been things in production that were changed greatly or completely trashed- and while this one is not yet easy to determine as definitely incorrect, I feel it is fair to assume so until there is proof of truth from it.

We knew in advance that the ivern skin was Candy King Ivern and that Elementalist Lux would be a thing.

Another leak which told us about the dark star skins, omega squad, star guardians, + more, evelynn being nearly naked and have two tentacles, and urgot having shot gun knees, as well as the pheonix and the harpie being xayah and rakan was accurate.

I believe all the rest were completely fake and just people jumping on the fake leak train.

Yeah there were only two leaks that have proven to be real (Ivern skin/Ele Lux) and then (Xayah/Rakan, Eve/Urgot, Riv/Yasuo, Cait, ect skins).

Everything past the March leak though has proven to be fake. It's possible that Riot had the Dunkmaster Illaoi on the list of ideas but wasn't part of their final decision, so we might possibly see some of the other things in this leak, but we might not. Only time will really tell. New PBE cycle is on Nov 7th (season end), so we will see if anything else from this appears then. One of which is our new champion, that may be something like what is described in said leak.

The leaks missed a ton of details about the Urgot/Evelynn reworks too, including fully-fleshed "kits" that ended up being fake. S'why I don't put too much stock in leaks anymore.

As I said before the other leaks were fake as all the skins on them were proven to not happen immediately, so any "details" those ones had on Eve/Urgot was unimportant.

A Rioter on Reddit did mention that Dunkmaster Illaoi was conceived, but never made it past simple concepts because they wanted a 1350, and Dunkmaster would work better as an 1820. It's possible that the leak was true, and whoever leaked these concepts just didn't get the memo that DM was scrapped.
