Is an "Animation Update" considered by Riot's Dev Team?

Some champions, since they're old, have an animation that makes them, for example, be in idle, execute a basic attack or move and immediately come straight back to an idle while the new ones have smoother animations that are more detailed and make them come back to their idles in a more natural way. The best examples to me are Jax and Udyr.

Is an "Animation Update" considered by Riot's Dev Team (or whatever part of Riot that works on the animations)?

Animations are something we do with large scale VGUs (Visual and Gameplay Update/Reworks) or Class Updates since doing a full suite of animations take a long time, when I say long time I mean the entirety of a Champions Development Cycle. Older Champions like Jax and Udyr may also require more than just animation work, this would include some modeling and rigging work.

But both Jax and Udyr could need a full VGU,so why update their animations now if they'll redo them completely later on anyway?
