Is Shaco going to get an update to his character in the Assassin update wave?

Don't get me wrong; I love the joker, and find him a funny character to have around.

That said, I also liked Sion Schwarzenegger for the same reasons.

Sion Schwarzenegger did not have a place in the game.

Shaco doesn't need as big of an overhaul as Sion (and his gameplay is fine), obviously, but a bit more depth than an obvious Joker clone would be appreciated.

Let me accentuate this: His gameplay is fine, his personality, backstory, and character need work

If you want to keep Shaco's lore as "WTF IS THIS THING?" That is fine, just rewrite it a little. Maybe make like it a horror story version of the new Rammus lore, or something.

Well as far as I'm aware, Riot hasn't updated the lore or characteristic to any champs from the juggernaut, marksman and mage gameplay updates. Which brings me to your answer right here, the updates are for **gameplay ** not lore, which is what I'm assuming your asking for. Now I don't know for sure myself if Assassins will be the next role update but based on the events of the past. Its very unlikely that any Assassin will get something new added to the champs bio other then gameplay/ new abilities. Plus if Shaco is in such a good position already then its also unlikely that he would be on that list for updates in the first place. Here's to hoping that there's a story centered around him in the near future, that way we can all be happy for poor deprived Shaco.

Being in a good spot doesn't mean the champ won't get changed though. Vel'koz was considered to be one of the most balanced champions ever and he was still part of the mage-rework(even if his changes were really small compared to the others)

Shaco might be in a good spot balancewise,but his gameplay is extremely outdated,I mean he has an instant-stealth move(with a flash) and his passive means it can be bad to run away from him.
