Capitalize on Janna's new lore!

I don't know if the right people are going to see this, but I'm putting it out there.

Janna's recent lore update was one of the greatest shifts in backstory I can bring to mind. She went from an orphaned child from Zaun made famous for her windy talent to a benevolent wind spirit born from and empowered by belief.

Seeing as how the entire nature of her existence changed, I cautiously propose a visual update to be in order. Not only are most of her models and animations pretty outdated by today's standards, but now they seem ill fitting for a being of her nature. At least by my tastes, that is. I think with her new identity she could be made into something a lot more than a lady with impractical armor and weird flowing tails. Maybe do away with plate armor and deck her out in some majestic, flowing ensemble with a blue bird motif as a nod to her new origins.

I don't know if Riot would really want to siphon the resources into a new Janna on the whim of some dude on the forums, but hey, I gotta ask for a breath of fresh air for my main.

There's actually this really cool artist on Twitter named Tom Randby who was working on a VU concept for Janna based around the bluebird motif. Not sure what the status is of this particular piece but I really like the direction it's going so far, and sounds a lot like what you described in your post:

I agree it'd be awesome if Janna could get a VGU one day to reflect her new abilities/theme.

I really like the look of that, actually. I don't know if the translucent fade of her arms and legs is intentional, but I actually think it fits. It's like she's 'not all physically there.'

I like it too. I hate how she's basically naked in her base model. But this sorta looks a bit too similar to Lux imo, with the blonde hair, white outfit, and long staff.

I think that sometimes though, being scantily clad actually has purpose in the visual identity of a character. In Janna's case, a revealing outfit gives her a natural and unrestrained look that speaks to her being an air mage. Her current metal bikini looks unfitting though IMO. It's on the wrong side of skimpy. It looks like it was supposed to be armor, but they made it revealing arbitrarily. Skimpy done well is where the outfit lends itself to its revealing nature in a way that doesn't seem forced for the sake of adding sex appeal, and fits well and serves a purpose in the visual identity of a character and how it relates to the overall identity.

I was going to add that Janna began as a sailor's legend/deity, and the type of woman a sailor would probably envision probably wasn't going to be decked down in anything fancy but rather would just be covered in lose robes. But this concept art is actually a really good vision (or at least a pirates vision) for her whilst not being too sexualized. Props to the artist I hope Riot takes this art work into consideration when they do upgrade her model and such in the future.

Yeah, I definitely don't think Janna is meant to be dressed like a nun. I think the goal should be beautiful, not sexual. Revealing, but in an elegant way where it's like she just doesn't want to be weighed down or restrained. Lots of loose fabric to flow in the breeze, but flattering so it doesn't look like she's wearing a potato sack. This and her hair would be pretty complicated to animate though, however important I think the right flowiness is to her visual feel. As it is her hair looks like a still shot of what someone's hair might look like in the wind, treated like a singular mass and made to just sway.

Also I think a title change might be in order to. She was never really furious to begin with, so I say swap "The Storm's Fury" to "The Windspeaker" because if Ivern can get a mastery named after him then Janna can too.

Honestly, i think she is fine as she is. She is the personification of a spirit after all.

What you would do to her? Remove her bra? :P Feathers feel too much like something "earthen" than a spirit of air.

Mostly just change the armor out for fabric that moves in the wind and looks lighter and more graceful. I think feathers would be okay if done right. You can either look at them as like a bird relating to air or how I'm thinking you see it - feathers relating to animals = nature = earth.
