One possible path for Darkins, and my own version of a darkin

Some of the "theory" seem farfetch but i just want them to have more of a connection and a history in runeterra

what do we know about Darkins

  1. there are only five left
  2. they can imbue there power onto others
  3. they have long life span

what i personally speculate what they can also be true(my opinion)

  1. they are a species enthrall in warfare
  2. there appearance is adaptable ( aatrox is red because of all the blood is is always around) 6.)they can imbue there power onto others

**The Five **

[Type of Darkin] [champ connected to] [roles/play style]

[Soldier]Aatrox ---------------------------------------------Roles-fighter/tank [Strategist][Leblanc ][Kassadin] ----------------------Roles-assassin [Scientist][Nautilus][Nautilus ] -------------------------Roles-Utility jungler [Spy][Sivir ][Braum ] ------------------------------------Roles-Tank/support [Sargent]leader[Pantheon][ Irelia]-----------------Undetermined Roles-

Origins (W.I.P)

The Darkin Strategist She is represented by leblanc because the the darkin strategist is the original leblanc and founder of the Black Rose.(TBC)

**The Darkin Scientist ** Nautilus because he created nautilus but not only Nautilus but he also create Nami Fizz races in his experiment(centuries ago) at first he tested "evolving" yordle creating Fizz's species it seem like it work well so he then tried it with human creating Nami's species but recently he realize that these two new species is too peaceful and not suitable for war so he tried making another specieNautilus but when he tried during the the harrowing and unknown element was thrown into the mix so he couldn't recreate the process .

The Darkin Spy Is represented by Cassiopeia because of her old lore where she infiltrate and seduce an enemy officer resulting in the curse where she became a snake. now that her lore is changed we lack a person who infiltrate and is a master of seduction. unlike a deceiver Leblanc who is masterful in the art of misdirection this spy is more about leaching and gaining someone trust. her origin is that she was a mistress of Azir. We know in Azir lore when Xerath try to gain power everyone was annihilated so how is it possible for Sivir to be a decedent of Azir, its because he had a mistress who was durable enough to survive the blast. This also mean Sivir is part darkin but its very minuscule

The Darkin General The most proficient in the art of war who became legend and played apart of the Uprising of Rakkor. The general skill was superior to other darkin not only can he/she imbue his/her power into people but also into weapons the weapon that Aatrox is currently using became sentient because it was her weapon other weapon she have use also became sentient such as Varus arrow. When trying to create a home in Ionia (trying to create another Rakkor) she/he accepted many pupil but before she/he can have a large influence on the people she was drive away by the Ionian elders, But there is still people who utilize her teaching although it has drifted toward a more pure version of teaching. One of the new style that arise from this was hiten style where the user can give life to there weapon

While its not been stated I think that Cassiopeia was still a spy in her new lore, its just not part of the story that caused her to turn into a gorgon.

And at this point I am pretty sure that the black ooze that is threatening fizz/nami and corrupted nautilus,is actually the black mist from the harrowing, considering that at least nautilus and fizz lived/were transformed close to bilgewater, which is threatened by the black mist.

Anyway I think your idea is nice However it was never said that the darkin are so enthralled by warfare. It might just be aatrox who is obsessed with war,I mean aatroxs archetype is more or less "big demon" and "war god" and they said they won't repeat concepts anymore(when they released azir, they said that azir isn't "a" sand-mage/emporer,but THE sand-mage/emporer of the game)

Anyway I think you still worked around the similarities by giving everyone a different role among the darkin, which works fine(maybe except for the strategist part, because that could easily step into swains territory).

Overall I personally think that the 5 darkin are all going to have different attributes of typical demons(maybe mixed with something else too) so for example Aatrox is pretty much our standard demon(mixed with war god)

Then another one could be a succubus, some speculate that lilith from ryzes judgement could be a succubus-like darkin(in your case this would probably fit the spy-type the most, but if the theory about lilith would be correct, then she'd probably fit more with the scientist type)

Another one could be an Imp,who might have a frail body, but makes up for that with powerful magic

An Oni could be the one related to the dark essence that corrupts varus and his bow,he would fit naturally into the ionian theme.

And the last one could be an asura(they were sometimes associated with demons) or an efreet.

  1. they can imbue there power onto others

This is most definitely not confirmed. All we know is that Aatrox can do it. We do not know if this is a unique trait or a racial skill.

I think that aatrox would make more sense as a commander.

I'd prefer if the Darkin end up like the First ones in B5 either uninterested in the machinations of the other peoples of the world or influences them in some sort of Ideological fashion like the order of Demacia v the Chaos of Noxus. Or even the unethical science of Zaun v the more ethical of Piltover. Aatrox focuses more on making the individual great way of the warrior glory in battle BS cause he see the big stuff as pointless or unpolished but WTF do I know. heh. Your idea is cool too. :)

There was actually a really cool thread a while ago that suggested that the Darkin are actually mystical sentient weapons, which explains their extreme longevity, as well as their warlike tendencies and the fact that they only reappear during times of conflict. Aatrox for instance is actually the living sword, not the being holding it, which is actually a human possessed by the blade. It also had some really cool links to a possible theory that Jax was an ancient being who forged the Darkin (because you can see a darkin behind Jax in his splash, which is distinctly not Aatrox). He also theorized that Varus and the Pit of corruption are another Darkin, with the corruption not being able to fully manifest itself in the way Aatrox did because of Varus' protective amulet (the Bow he now wields is part of the semi sentient being that is trying to possess him, which also imbued him with intense magical combat ability). I think it would be more likely that the Darkin are these empowered sentient weapons, and the others would probably be some sort of Mage, a Tank, and maybe a healer or possibly an assassin.

Wait a minute.... when did riot said the "number 2"? I mean, Aatrox can do that, but it doesn't mean that all the Darkins do the same... I mean, Lux can shoot magical lazors but it doesn't mean that all the humans (or demacians) can do the same.
