Regarding Durand building Galio in secret...

Is anyone else imagining how comical that would be? Demacia asked for shields from the artificer, so they leave him alone to get on with it. A little while later they come back to see him working on the beginnings of some huge thing, possibly obscured by a large piece of cloth or tarp to hide it from eyes of the public.

"Durand, what is that?" "Oh, the shields you asked for." He'd reply sheepishly, avoiding their gaze. "Are you sure? A shield is a lot smaller than that." "Yes, yes, I'm sure." He'd say, hoping to employ a confident bluster to get the soldier to leave him alone, shooing him away with both arms.

A few months later, a similar exchange would follow, each time the obscured structure getting bigger and bigger. Durand would keep making inane excuses and sending the soldier on their way, until he finally unveiled his Colossus, Galio.

And the soldier was never allowed to check on the progress of anything ever again.

To say that the Demacians were surprised would be a colossal understatement.

Durand honestly sounds kinda trollish. Or like someone who has an idea and doesn't stop.

"Shields? Yeah I can totally do shields."

one week passes "You know, shields could be scavenged against us. Better think of something that the enemy can't take."

Ends up creating a giant statue of the stuff

"Yeah, no one is going to take this!"

Demacians who asked him: "So we need to carry this giant into battle whenever we face a magic threat?"

Durand: "Yep!"

Demacians: "Gods damn it, Durand."

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Durand was seen as a bit off by his fellow Demacians.

imagine also the first reaction of the demacian military commander in charge

-Well this is amazing but... is it supposed to protect us? -Yes, his massive size will block everything the enemy throws at us! -in here? -what do you mean? -Well... how are we supposed to GO into the battlefield with a humongous statue? -... -I can't imagine how hard it'll be to move this thing through a hill... -... -Consider also that his body is anti-magic so we can't use our own magic to move him... -... -Great shield indeed...

That should be LoL's next cinematic, just Durand revealing Galio to the Demacian military.

Demacian Commander: "How are we supposed to move this thing into battle?!"

Durand: "I don't know, that's for you to figure out. I was just hired to make a shield for you guys and that's what I did."

Commander: "..."

Durand: "Good luck out on the fields, brave warrior."

More likely, he built it in pieces and just assembled him in a day once he was done with all the parts.

actually given how demacian seen to have no magic to counter the dark wizards or whatever at the time and had to recur to things like galio i would imagine durand saying something like "it magic could corrupt you" or "do no disturb me while i work against the obscure magic" they would fear and look away
