We know that the denizen of the shadow isle need the black mist to move about but Evelyn doesn't. Maybe it's because she is part Void.
It could be as if a void parasite found a dead body in the middle of be reanimated by the black mist and jump into to the mix and thus Evelyn was born.
Despite her distinct colouring, I think Eve is just too human looking to be of Void origin. Even Malzahar, a regular human who looked into the Void without actually entering, has a massive glowing cavity where his brain should be. In comparison, Eve looks rather normal.
While she is rumoured to be from the Shadow Isles, Eve's definitely doesn't look undead. There's no black mist, and no green-blue corpse lights. The spike effects on her abilities is also something unlike the typical Shadow Islanders. Note that Mordekaiser is not limited to the Black Mist, as he's strong enough to survive on his own. Maokai and Elise are not bound to the Black Mist either, as they are not undead. Eve may be in a similar position.
Of course, her appearance may change drastically during her update, so these arguments may be invalidated.
I almost wonder if her character will remain as a sadistic succubus. She's almost identical to queen of pain in DotA a d you guys are probably cringing about DotA now.
I wasn't aware of the Black Mist requirement. Does Maokai?
