Yasuos wind power allways seemed kinda strange to me...ingame he can only create a tornado and a wall of wind, all by using his sword, the rest of his kit doesn't really focus on any wind power. And his lore focuses more on the murdered elder that he was made guilty for (although he was only made guilty because of his wind power). So my question is if Yasuo can control the wind without his sword? Was he just born with this power and only uses the sword as a tool to better control it, but could do so with his bare hands too? Or is it a magical sword or a secret technique that makes him able to control the wind?

Edit: Taking a look at the other 2 wind controling champions, we know that Janna (according to her current lore which might not be canon anymore) allways had an affection towards the element of air and was able to learn how to control it. So she wasn't born with any wind powers, but can now control it all by herself (her staff seems to only help her to control it, as her animation for her shield shows Janna just using her hand). And Riven seems to only use a special technique. She doesn't really control the wind but her 2.R “Windslash“ uses some wind power and it is theorized that she killed the elder from Yasuos story during the Noxus invasion of Ionia. So maybe he only uses a special technique, but I don't think he would have been able to teach Talihya to control her earth power then...

References to "Wind Blades" and the wind technique in his lore imply that Yasuo's power is derived from a specific martial art and it's application, and that Yasuo was able to properly grasp the nuances of this technique to a greater degree than others of his time.

Considering the above I don't think Yasuo's technique comes from anything special on his part other than his natural nack for the way this martial art was taught and is applied. More of a "right guy, right place, right time" kinda deal.

From his animations, it seems as he uses the sword to better his power of wind control, and if i'm not mistaken, didn't he actually have to learn this power, not born with it. Now, from his animations, when he Q's with his tornado, you can see a slash in the ground where he Q'd. It seems that he uses the sword to better his control his power. He's definitely one of my favorite champs in terms of his power and lore. Wish he used more of this power in his kit.
