What would Shen and Karma think of Syndra?

Hi everyone!

This is a call to all the Shen and Karma lovers (or any person who knows them well enough to answer my question really :p)! I'm not really familiar with Shen and Karma - or at least only partially, so I need your help!

So my question is, in your opinion, what would Shen and Karma think about Syndra?

They'd obviously consider her a threat to Ionia, but I can't help but think they're smarter and more knowledgeable, and thus might have a less vague opinion/more nuanced than that. For example, I think Zed would see her as a threat, no more, no less. But Shen and Karma being two of the wisest persons in Ionia, might view things with a bit more nuances? Again, I'm not too familiar with these two characters so I wouldn't know - I only have vague ideas, especially regarding Karma, but that's all.

I can't predict the future, but I kind of think they're going to cross paths at some point. If only because Syndra is a threat to Ionia's balance, which is something Shen is trying to protect, and Karma as well (kinda...?). Also I think they'd have some knowledge about the nature of her powers but well... I know we're not getting this anytime soon (sadly), but I think it's worth discussing (I do think it'd make for great stories)!

So yeah, if anyone can bring me some clarity, I'd be really thankful!

I can't speak about Shen but I don't think that Karma would view Syndra as just a threat and nothing more. If it was one of Karma's past incarnations/lives then no doubt she/he would think like the typical monk and try to...control her or maybe even worse. But she isn't and instead likes to think out of the box. Rather than staying a pacifist and do nothing she wondered what was the point of having powers which can harm and destroy. So she used them. The same way I imagine she would wonder why did the Spirit of Ionia imprison Syndra instead of just taking her live? I think they both can benefit from each other. Karma can teach Syndra to control her emotions(but not control her and maybe unlock something that will make her even more powerful) meanwhile Syndra can let Karma try to understand how her unique powers work, why are they so different, give her knowledge about new kinds of magic...or maybe help Karma do some things that Karma herself can't.

I also wouldn't mind a battle between each other. Having mountains and hadoukens flying left and right would be quality battle! [slayer-jinx-catface] But I don't want winners because if Syndra wins then it's means Karma failed to convince her to stop mindlessly destroying everything. And if Karma, lore wise, the wisest Ionian can't then who can? Maybe there is someone but chance are very low(imo). If however Karma wins the battle then it downgrades Syndra's character as that all powerful sovereign...just no thanks.

We don't really have much to go off from Karma, but I imagine it would heavily depend on the context of their meeting.

If Karma found her in a vulnerable state she most likely try to help her and offer guidance, without seeking control or "tame" her.

However, if Syndra were to be an immanent threat, Karma would probably be the best person to counter her.

Ultimately I hope Karma would be a part of Syndra's rehabilitation.
