I really am wondering about this because of how far back the lore for it has been delayed. I mean the Shurima event was more than a month ago and the major lores for it are only coming out now.
Also if the ultimate skin does turn out to be connected with this why then would it not have come out when the event was happening?
So Riot was the Shurima event rushed out before everything could be completed, and if so why?
Simple, the lore team is incompetent as a whole, they show nothing but blatant disregard to an actually respectable part of the LoL community, they present a story with amazing visuals, but overwhelming plot holes, they have little to no actual communication with anybody, and they show a complete lack of respect to the original lore writers, and characters by overwriting every single thing they tried setting up with one thing, a poorly reasoned retcon.
This is just blatant idiocy on their part, and I don't care if I insult them anymore, because they honestly deserve it. They are nothing more than sneaky, terrible people by this point, and I cannot possibly fathom at all why they were even hired for this lore.
They had tech issues, sure, nonetheless the Shurima event was rushed. A month has passed and we have only the Azir's and Xerath's stories and nothing for the other retconned champions. It's pretty accepted that they managed all badly from a timeline and release date point of view. The release of the two said stories is a big step forward, but still they took a month for them and it looks a very disproportionate time for those stories to be baked.
The thing is that the lore team got confronted with an unexpected technical issue that the main page drew its lores from the same source as the ingame client,but they want the short lores in the client.
Aside from that they said that they took our criticism into consideration and adjust the stories they've prepared.
Yea, it certainly feels that way. Guess they wanted to get it out as fast as possible after killing the whole lore beforehand, as sort of diversion or breadcrumbs or whatever.
