Kahina: New Demacian Champ, or Just a Throwaway Name?

SPOILER FOR THE DEMACIA EVENT AHEAD PROCEED WITH CAUTION

So the new Demacia stories are out, and they're pretty neat. Given that we got both a new champ and a rework in the last rework(Piltover/Zaun), it isn't unreasonable to assume we might get a new champ associated with Demacia at the end of the new event. Now, that's not Garen-teed, since the last event was technically two regions, but it would be pretty cool, and we haven't gotten a "new" champ in a while.

Anyways, the new bio for Lux, who seems to be the new postergirl for Demacia, mentions a girl named Kahina who befriended Lux. Kahina is a knight of the Radiant Ones, the warrior order of the religious order called the Illuminators. Basically they seem to be Demacia's equivalent to paladins. The story mentions that Lux had went off after a pack of monster, and she gets overwhelmed after melting quite a few of them. Lux gets saved by the Radiant Ones, and the bio goes out of it's way to say that they were led by Kahina. Kahina is the one who discovered that Lux is a mage, and that makes her extremely important, too important to simply be a side character that won't ever show up again.

Riot has been giving us little bits about Demacian culture that are really pretty interesting. This new religious order, the Illuminators, are not only tolerant of magic, but they seem to even use it themselves. Basically, they seem to be a less sinister Black Rose for Demacia. The fact that Kahina is not only pointed out as a high-ranking member, but is also the one who essentially recruited Lux to their order, leads me to believe that she is a special character. Another neat little tidbit that we've been given is the fact that a large part of Demacian culture is wyvern riders. A high-ranking member of a secretive order of paladins in a nation that values wyvern riders so highly that their national monument is even a half-wyvern-half-man statue...

Maybe these small details are trying to tell us that Kahina will not only be a new champion, but she will be a badass wyvern-riding paladin that enforces sweet Demacian justice from the skies. Or maybe I'm an idiot and none of this makes any sense at all. I guess we'll have to wait until the end of this event to see.
