Now imagine what we are going to read when we'll reach the story in the future, maybe when a new Darkin will be introduced (how Aatrox will turn the wheel of fate, change the battle into a pure bloody carnival). "Violence is elegance". My body is ready.

And more than that, I really like the way TF's character is being uncovered. He is actually being developed! Now he's not just a selfish gambler, but a guy with his own fears and weaknesses (he's definitely NOT a Marty Stu. And it's great!), he shows proper reactions and we are able to speculate about different situations between him and Graves. Great job, Riot!

We're all very happy that you're enjoying the event so far. Moving TF into a different space as a character, and having progression for all of the Champions involved as far as their story arcs are concerned were very important to us. It means a lot to the team when we see these responses. Thank you very much.

Hey Jaredan, I took this question over to the Bilgewater Event thread, but the guys there thought it was better suited here. If you get a moment, would you mind answering?

In TF's story, where he's gambling with a man named Henmar: Are the bounty hunters Miss Fortune, and the red side shop keeper from Butcher's Bridge?

Or would this question be better directed elsewhere? My bad if that's the case.

Is the eye patch guy Rafen? And if so/not, is eye patch guy of any real importance?

man i really can't wait for when you chose to do a Noxus VS demacia event hopefully when you add more champions to both of those sides but i guess after youre done with this faction the next faction will be Zaun VS Piltover or maybe even a civil war between the Kinku and Zed but again hopefully when you add one more champion to Zed s side

Rather, it seems like the story is actually going to get somewhere. Shurima was some high-quality exposition, but it wasn't really anything beyond just that. (I'm still wondering what Azir intends to do about Rek'Sai occupying part of his territory...)

Shurima also came with a slew of character changes, retcons, etc. Sivir is no longer aware of her surroundings, Cassiopeia is no longer subtle, Xerath is now an angsty rebel generic vizier, Skarner is basically dead, and on and on.

This one has a few character changes and retcons, but they're much easier to stomach, with the only really significant and scary one being that TF's life history is totally different. Even with that, though, his basic personality is intact, in fact more developed. An unnecessary retcon, but a well-used one, along with pages of solid writing.

... I miiiiight trust you on this right now? I mean, on the one hand I feel like this whole event would still work fine with an existent IoW, but on the other hand this event is startlingly fantastic and really showcases actual understanding of lore fans' feedback. So, yeah, on the fence but generally optimistic. Weird feeling.

EDIT: If you're talking about the Shurima changes as well, then I'm a bit less softened, though I think we've already had the whole "Sivir and Cassi might be fine, just a bad angle on them in that one story" discussion. Xer/Skar idk.

What confuses me most is how the gunfight in the first act was essentially a PG rated bloodless superhero fight where guns are firing and no one gets hurt, then act two hits and it's just super concentrated, brutally gory ultraviolence.

Did they just want Gangplank's scrimshaw to be extra shocking, so all the actual violence happened after that scene?

Agreed. Malcom is also being developed, albeit a bit slowly. Now he's actually heard TF's reason for dipping out at the last second, and why it wasn't betrayal. Now lets see what GP and MF are going to do.

Also MF seems to be attempting a rather gutsy move, maybe setting ablaze Gangplank's ship and raiding his warehouse? It seems very clear that MF played TF and Graves for fools and made them cause all of this havoc to give her an opening.

Well T.F. said how he saw it. That doesn't mean Graves agrees, or that he even really heard it, considering the mood he was in at the time.

So did you get rid of T.F.'s lust for magic in his new lore? Because that's a part of his character I've really liked. He was willing to trade in his best friend for something he deeply desired.

Wait, I read it and thought it was amazing, but how was what TF did not a betrayal.....its still seems like he set the job up so graves could get caught and TF can get the powers.

TF already had powers. However, T.F.'s point of view doesn't mean Graves is wrong in feeling betrayed.
