Wishlist of lore advancements/improvements I want to see for 2020

Naalith·1/10/2020, 10:13:07 PM·21 votes·13,270 views

I decided before the lore video for the new season that Riot comes out with sometime soon (similar to last year's at the start of season 9) I should put some of my own hopes for each region in the lore out here. Some regions are in need of more love than others (Bandle City lul), but IF each region is going to get a major expansion or progression in 2020, these are some of my top wishes for each. Keep in mind that some regions may be as simple as expanding on a cool idea, while others have entire plotlines which are either in limbo or have never made sense and need to be expanded upon. These are just my opinions of course. Alphabetical order to make it easy, it's going to be a long one so that will make it easier to find your favorite region if you don't care as much. :)

Bandle City: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/6/68/Bandle_City_Crest.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/340?cb=20190415230719 I don't think it's controversial to say that Bandle City needs a massive amount of work. If yordles are supposed to be the fae of this world, why do so many of them use tech? Why do they become so obsessed with the first thing they lay eyes on in Runeterra (Kled with Noxus expansion, Kennen consumed with being a stone faced master, Poppy becoming obsessed with Demacia and Orlon's hammer, etc.) My wish for this region isn't a singular request: we really need Riot to come at Bandle City from multiple angles to really flesh out the region and make it feel like more than a cool easter egg that gets stuffed in the back of books and forgotten about. The recent Lulu and Tristana story DID seem to introduce Bandlewoods being destroyed as a central conflict of the region, but we really need a lot more content here. Mass yordle VU coupled with lore when?

Bilgewater: https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/factions/bilgewater_splash.jpg Ahh, the first region in the new lore that felt like an actual place. My wish for Bilgewater is this: progression. After Shadow and Fortune, we haven't really heard much from this region. We know Miss Fortune is trying to gain power. We know Gangplank is being sneaky. We know the natives worship sea monsters. We know Pyke was brought back by a sea god (allegedly, it's not technically in the lore but his voice lines were clearly written under the pretext that people knew). While I really do want some more explorations into the fantastical world of the sea monsters that exist in this world, perhaps with a sea monster champion, a longer story about Pyke's resurrection, or an explanation into the ancient religion of the indigenous people, if a single wish must be fulfilled it's that the MF/Gangplank/criminal overlord of Bilgewater plot needs to be moved forward. It's basically been in limbo for 5 years at this point, minus some teasers here and there. It could even make a cool comic, Bilgewater doesn't have one of those yet.

Demacia: https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/factions/demacia_splash.jpg Demacia is arguably the region with the best upkeep, although that could just be recency bias since the release of Sylas at the start of last year. We already know a Demacia book is being written and we already have lots of potential stories set up. My biggest wish is that the story will be cleaned up and made more cohesive. We still have pre-Sylas lore with Lux and Garen battling Nocturne, Lux meeting Galio, Jarvan's interactions with Shyvana, and other stories that are all confirmed as canon yet don't fit into the timeline anymore. The Nocturne story shows Lux with her staff being sent by the Illuminators to handle a threat, yet still trying to be sneaky with her magic around Garen. Jarvan told Sylas he loved a special magical someone once, who is probably Shyvana, yet that story being set before the mage revolution feels disjointed. The Illuminators are in canon stories but haven't shown themselves in more recent stuff. Is the Nocturne story just set after the current arc is finished and Lux comes back home? That seems anticlimactic having plot points set after the current major conflict. Just some cleanup would be nice, I'm also excited to see the story moving forward but we already knew that would happen.

Frejlord: https://www.mobafire.com/images/champion/skins/landscape/rammus-freljord.jpg Frejlord could arguably be broken down into three subregions. It is a massive place with a huge breadth of people, similar to Ionia, but unlike Ionia all these subregions have a massive depth of lore already written for them. Winter's Claw alone has a similar amount of lore to other major regions which Riot has kept up with pretty well. For this region I have two big wishes: one for progression and one for backstory. For progression I simply mean that I'm digging the stories and want them to move forward (hopefully without one subregion falling behind the others). For backstory I mean I would love some insight into why the Frejlord is such a different place from the other regions. What are the origins of the demigods like Ornn and Volibear? What are the massive Watcher-esque creatures from the card game? Why are most magically inclined people Iceborne or Stormborne where on the rest of Runeterra there is a giant rainbow of possible abilities? What is north of the Frejlord? There is a Riot man named Odin somewhere who is largely responsible for Frejlord having such awesome lore. He nailed not only the delivery of information about the region, but made the old gods feel like an old folktale. In this world however, the old gods are real and actively interact with the world, and I just want more information about them because they are so cool.

Ionia: https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/010/260/459/large/joon-ahn-ionia-graveyard-2400.jpg?1523464683 Ionia is a vast region with tons of interlinked storylines. Yet my wish for this one is pretty simple because something was introduced that I don't remember reading about until somewhat recently when I checked out the Realms of Runeterra book: a war with titans. It seems that in the distant past, Ionians battled with celestial titans and came out victorious. In some places of Ionia, the corpses and ancient weapons of these beings still exist. This is awesome. I must know more.

Ixtal https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/ixtal_splash.jpg Ixtal is another region like Bandle City which is going to need quite a bit of work to get up to the bar of quality set by other regions. I actually think Qiyana introduced before her region as a source for future chaos was a good thing, but there is also an issue with the only character in your region only talking about herself. I know some other champions were retrofitted into the jungles around Ixtal, but only Qiyana and possibly Malphite (who may get a VGU and have his lore changed in the future anyways) exist currently. Simply put: more content. Interesting characters in the state of politics, a look into what an elemental mage nation must do to stay safe, civil wars if they've happened, connections with the dragons, etc. This region has a lot of potential, it just isn't quite there yet.

Noxus https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/factions/noxus_splash.jpg Noxus has more vectors for potential future stories than perhaps any other region. I know that may be a stretch due to the size of Ionia and Frejlord, but there really is a lot going on. Kingdoms being annexed, a second war with Ionia, potential rebellions in outer kingdoms, a war with Demacia, a war with the Winter's Claw, internal conspiracies to overthrow the Trifarix, the Black Rose's obsession with powerful magical artifacts, and many more stories that are interesting enough to be the sole focus for the region exist. Similarly to my wish for the Frejlord, I hope we can get at least a little lore progression on each of these plot points without any falling too far in the rear mirror. I would also really like to know how Swain captured his demon, that seems like an important part of the story and I've written before how it's lame it was brushed over.

Piltover https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/factions/image-gallery/piltover-zindeloruneterra.jpg I considered combining Piltover and Zaun because they are now more connected than ever. It's been this way since Camille with them sharing a section in Realms of Runeterra and sharing most of the recent long-form stories. I decided there's more than enough to go around, however. Firstly a wish for both regions: please make more long form stories that include characters and locations from each city within them. Seeing the contrast is just really cool and these feel like actual places. For Piltover specifically: more stories about how they interact with other regions would actually be really cool. Piltover and Zaun feel like this place completely cut off from the rest of the fantasy world. Even Bandle City feels more connected to the greater fantasy world of Runeterra than these regions. We do know Piltover is cutting down trees which is cool, but I'd also like to see how they trade with other nations. Do other places even understand the technology Piltover can export? Has Noxus tried to annex the cities, seeing as how they have taken over places all around northern Shurima? Are the massive sea monsters/ocean dwelling gods angry with the massive canal that has been constructed? Can people even be born with magical abilities in this place separated entirely from nature? Piltover is one of my personal favorite regions, so seeing it be more integrated into the crazy stuff that happens in the rest of Runeterra would be cool.

Shadow Isles https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/factions/shadow-isles_splash.jpg The Shadow Isles are an interesting place. At the start of the 2019 I would've said the region was abandoned by Riot similarly to Bandle City, as no lore had come out since Yorick's 2016 rework. The Echoes Left Behind, Senna, and Realms of Runeterra have largely helped the region become a more fleshed out place however, and I've been pretty happy with everything. My wish here is easy: I want more information on the Ruined King and I'd love him to finally be added to the game. I know some of it has been on purpose to build mystery, but the amount of information on the Ruined King has been so little that most people just assumed he wasn't important to the current lore. I myself had a theory that Mordekaiser (when he was on the Isles instead of in Noxus) kept the depressed Ruined King in a prison and tortured him to use his power, but apparently I misread the situation. Not only is the Ruined King still an important part of the story, he actually is the king of sorts on the Shadow Isles despite there being literally nothing about him explained for years in both the current lore and old retconned lore. Hopefully the new Ruined King game will expand on him further, and I'm expecting him to be released in League as cross-promotion around the same time that game comes out. I'd love to know more about this dude that always seemed to be more of a teaser or interesting lore factoid than an actual character in the universe.

Shurima https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/6/65/Azir_RiseoftheAscended_Concept_02.png/revision/latest?cb=20181130204702 Ahh, the image above may stir something in you, correct? If you're an old League fan you must surely remember the insane hype of Azir's return and the massive lore event surrounding it. Cinematics, a game mode, a new champion release, old champion VU's (Nasus), future plans hinted at, etc. The problem is this: literally nothing is happening in this god damn region. The story took a tiny baby step forward when Taliyah was released, but ultimately the battle lines were drawn over half a decade ago and we're still waiting for something to happen. My wish is this: for something to happen. We've recently had Darkins reemerging, we have the Void in southern Shurima, Setaka was quote "cocooned" by the Void in Where Icathia Once Stood and may return as a Void corrupted Ascended champion one day, and many other recent Shuriman stories have been set up. It's hard to care about any of this new stuff however, when the war for Shurima's throne has been on the verge of beginning for 6 years. Azir released in 2014. Please Riot, bring some progression to this story.

Targon https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/f/fc/Aurelion_Sol_He_Has_Returned.png/revision/latest?cb=20170325053123 Targon has always been an amazing region to me. It always borders on being my favorite region, but isn't updated quite enough and doesn't have quite the level of detail I want to fully cross that line. For example: the Realms of Runeterra book doesn't have a Targon story despite it being a fully featured region in every other way (rather than a one page teaser like Bandle City, Ixtal, and the Void). With recent Aphelios and Soraka stories along with the great Taric lore previously, the human side of Targon is actually feeling pretty good and I'm digging the direction it's going. My wish is this though: I really do want to learn more about the celestial race in the heavens above the mountain and why they even care about Runeterra. Aurelion called them a spacefaring race so they likely didn't start on Runeterra, so why do they care so much about managing the life here? Are they the ones who created the planet? Are they trying to claim the World Runes after another race died while building the planet (something hinted at in unofficial channels but not in any story)? Were they the same faction as the celestial titans the Ionians fought, or did they fight the titans with Ionia? Why do they merge with humans to influence the world rather than just orbital striking the evil in question with their cosmic magic? In Twilight of the Gods, Ta'anari describes physically going to the holy city in the sky and riding dragons around, so we know there is a physical place where the gods live somewhere. I am so fascinated by the celestial half of Targon and I just wish we knew more about their society and motivations. Additionally, I'd love to see more primordial celestials who aren't connected to Targon like Aurelion Sol, we know they exist out there.

The Void https://universe-meeps.leagueoflegends.com/v1/assets/images/kassadin-color-story-bg.jpg The Void is a weird place. It seems extremely fleshed out and has connections in tons of places in the League universe, but doesn't get a lot of lore directly. Part of this is because most Void stuff boils down to monsters that want to destroy everything, with the brains being the Watchers whose motivations we already fully understand. Another part is that even Void-related champions like Kassadin and Kai'sa feel more like Shuriman champions because physical beings can't really cross to the "real" Void. My wish for this is oddly specific and probably the least likely to happen out of this whole list, but I would be interested to see a Void monster who abandons his directive to destroy everything. We know Vel'koz is aware that he will be destroyed along with the rest of reality once the Watchers complete their mission, but imagine a new voidling champion who also realizes this fact but isn't okay with it? Not that this monster would become a good guy, but just that it would defect and go off into the woods to become part of the ecosystem or something. I dunno, sounds interesting to me at least but I could be off on this one.

Zaun https://lolstatic-a.akamaihd.net/frontpage/apps/prod/piltover/en_US/0d65273e55685b53b82f4f0ead52fc167a27f911/assets/img/share/zaun_1200x630.jpg Finally, Zaun. I already shared one half of my wish in Piltover's section (basically just that I want more stories where both cities play a big part) but Zaun has a lot going on that I would love to be explored. Firstly, I have no doubt after the recent story and cinematic that the cult of Urgot is still alive and well and I would love to see more of this group of people. Secondly, I'd be interested to see hextech crystals get sent to Zaun and essentially have a chembaron with access to a superweapon making demands of Piltover. Chemtech allows body augmentation and extreme strength, but hextech seems to be able to do literally anything including break time in some instances. It is far more powerful and has the x factor of magic, and I'd love to see some actual magic make its way down to this depressing undercity. Something else I'd be interested to learn more about is the prison mines below the Sump. I'm wondering if the Malphite story was a teaser for the fact that there may be a Void invasion that comes from under Zaun at some point, forcing the economic elite in Piltover to join forces with chembarons to repel the threat while simultaneously using the destruction as a means of jockeying for more control. Also, Ekko game hype. Action platformers are pretty cool.

My lore hopes for 2020 can be summed up in one word -- Yordles.

Give the Yordles the love and care they deserve as they have been neglected long enough. I've had enough Vastaya and would rather explore the Yordle mystical race further. A new Yordle champions would be awesome too. While Yuumi helped expand some aspects of the Yordles further, she herself is not a Yordle and it's been a while since we've had a true Yordle release.

Oh, that's a long one!

More Bandle is obvious, no need to talk about that. The Whispering Doodad was great, but there could be so much more. Tristana and Lulu might have been updated, but what about Rumble and Teemo, both of which are (were?) related to Tristana?

Bilgewater has a game coming up, so yay to that. Ruined King is set after Burning Tides, so hopefully it can be used for worldbuilding in Bilgewater. What happened to GP after he died? How do people like MF's rule?

I definitely wouldn't mind Demacia without Sylas. Sure, he was introduced to "move the story of Demacia forward" (Riot's words) or basically as "plot device" (players) - and he definitely did, I think there is more lore post-sylas than pre-sylas - but right now, it feels like this is all that's happening.

As you said, Freljord is divided. Some places are fleshed out well enough, but a lot of champs are still missing. Anivia, Gragas, Olaf, Trundle and Volibear have no biography and no color story. That - along with the Voli rework - seems like a good place to bring some more backstory into Runeterra's coldest region.

Ionia is pretty much done in terms of recent-ish lore, but it could use some more backstory. "First Lands", and we know more of the backstories of Demacia and Noxus. The ancient titans seem like a good place to start. One of my complaints is also that it's a bit too interwoven with Noxus, and there is barely any "Ionia only" lore. Again, this could tell us a story from the times long before Noxus came (like a shadow through this land).

Ixtal is new, more of everything please!

I have almost nothing to complain about for Noxus, except maybe Alistar and Draven. Both are related to Sett, so I haven't given up that they might receive updates thanks to him. Talon also needs lore and the resolution to one of the longest outstanding plotlines since they wrecked the IoW.

Piltover is cool, but you are right: It seems disconnected from the world. Maybe this is why Ixtal was introduced? I would also like to see more Hextech. I love fancy machines, and it would be super cool to see things in the size of a T-Hex in action. It's often talked about how powerful these machines are, but most of the time they are mentioned in a half-sentence like in Progress Day (where the story is literally about constructing a Hextech Device).

Shadow Isles: Ruined King, no further questions asked.

Shurima is like Bilgewater - stuck in the past. All of their champs have received the lore they were promised, and that's it. Though it seems to move again since Xerath got attacked by Pantheon? I hope there is more to come.

Sadly, it seems that Runeterran stories are decidedly human. This is one of the big motifs in the recent lore, and I wish there was more emphasis on the celestial side. Imagining the Realm beyond Targon is hard. What even is their goal? WHY?

There is not much lore involving void champions, and most of the time they are just big bad meanie antagonists. Some more agency would be nice. Actually, I have seen the "voidborn turns against watchers" champion requested quite a few times. Focus on the characters, not the impending doom. Kha's story was nice, it did show him as antagonist but fleshed out his character as it was supposed to. But all the long stories about the void (basically just WIOS) is just "yeah it's bad, gonna delete us all".

What was really interesting in Zaun were the children. The orphanage Vi visited, City of Iron and Glass, the gang in Legends of Runeterra. I'd like to see more of this tbh.

Basically, the problems with the current lore are regions with Champions that don't have updated lore - like Bandle City and the Void - and those left in the dust - like Shurima and Bilgewater: They had their own cool stories, but then apparently nothing happened for a few years (both in-lore and irl).

Also keep in mind there should be the video for Universe in 2020 tomorrow (18-ish hours)- hopefully some of these concerns are addressed soon!

I agree especially Bandle City part. Teemo doesn't have a story. Rumble has a problematic lore...

RyzeTheSmurfMage1/11/2020, 1:46:39 PM3 votes

Personally I hope that Shurima's main plotline gets continued. And I mean the God war one. There's so much potential for epic battles and shit like that in there, and a lot of potential plotlines to happen in Shurima after it gets resolved too. I would love for Shurima's plot to get continued (as long as they don't go the Disney cliche route and kill off both Azir and Xerath so either Taliyah or Sivir can take over because that would be the 1 option I would hate to happen for Shurima)

EdgeLady1/11/2020, 9:52:35 PM3 votes

Bandle City: I think everyone in the whole community agrees that this place needs just, any sort of lore. Yuumi was an interesting addition and I'd like to see other near-Yordle familiar-type spirits (maybe a cute doggie), but, she didn't come with much real lore. However, I will say there's a spot of hope since Corki, perhaps the Yordle with the currently most confusing and inconsistent lore, is in the top priority list for reworks. He might even be in the next rework poll, whenever that comes out. I would say, if he gets reworked sometime soon, more proper Bandle City lore has to come. Right?...

Bilgewater: Yeah, I also want to see things progress here. I'd also like to see some of Nautilus, how he and Pyke might be connected, etc. We did get more post-Shadow and Fortune progression with Fortune Smiles, which was pretty interesting, but I'd definitely like to see where it goes from there, since it sets up Miss Fortune potentially having to fight her inner demons and resist becoming a tyrant like Gangplank. And since The Climb is now confirmed as canon ever since Senna's release, is this possibly where the scene with her comes in, where she seems to be being tested by Illaoi?

And, on a second note that I've said before but will say again: Burning Tides already set this up, but I think it would be best to keep Graves and Twisted Fate separate from the actual Bilgewater drama, even though they're arguable protagonists who happen to belong to that region. But all of the progression they needed to do there is done, and now they're going to Piltover, which fits their personalities, professions, and designs much better, if their story continues in that region (and Zaun too). Hell, I would argue that they should be the bridge to exploring the intriguing but little-shown Serpentine Delta, which is implied to be a combination of many cultures that trade there and could probably have a lot of significance for Bilgewater, Ixtal, Shurima, Piltover and Zaun, and even Noxus.

I do agree that, with Demacia, it seems that almost everything important happening is around Sylas and the rebellion, whereas, before him, there was a lot more of a spread. On the plus side, this gives Demacia focus, but I would also like to see more variety. As for the stories that don't involve him, well, we have Poppy off being a hero somewhere around Demacia, Fiora's doing her thing and meets Jax somewhere, and who knows what Quinn's up to lately. And I guess there's Shyvana, but her story needs actual clarification and she's due for a rework pretty soon, so I'm not expecting her to directly appear in any stories until that happens (though the allusions to her in the Lux comic were nice). Since these side stories seem to be the only non-Sylas ones Demacia has right now, I'd enjoy seeing them expanded upon, if possible. Especially Poppy's, since we do need some Yordle lore, anything.

And most importantly, with Demacia, give us Sona lore already. She's the only Demacian character left completely in the dust.

With Freljord, there's really only one thing on my mind: Gragas. What's his deal, Riot? I think he's the only Freljord character without a place in the story. I also would love to see more adorable Nunu action. Oh, and show more of Lissandra's direct actions, because some people are still confused by her messily-portrayed bio.

Ixtal just needs...everything. I'd like to see how Nidalee fits into it, especially, since now we have Sett exploring the consequences of the interbreeding of vastaya with pure humans. It's implied that Nidalee and, likely, her missing family, are mixtures as well, but it would be interesting to see how this can be portrayed in Ixtal differently. Maybe that can also give us insight into the peasant life in Ixtal, since Qiyana's release mainly told us about how the imperial succession system works, while giving us very little about the people.

I agree about Noxus's story potential. They basically want to take over everywhere and have the ability to at least do some of it. I'd especially like to see explorations into their expansions that aren't talked about as much directly, like their ventures into Ixtal and how they interact with Bilgewater (Swain fights Gangplank over his boat pl0x). Also, revive the Demacia vs Noxus conflict! It would be such a missed opportunity if Swain and LeBlanc hadn't gathered information about how to use the current division of Demacia against them and plan out an invasion. I know there's the Freljord subplot going on right now, but Noxus vs Demacia is what we all want.

With Piltover, I want more Caitlyn. Totally not biased.

But in all seriousness, I want more insight into the underbelly of Piltover, the serious issues they deal with. I want Riot to take more risks with it. Similarly with Zaun, but with Zaun, I don't want Zaun to simply be where all the dirt under the Piltovan gild goes. Camille was a good step in this direction, but I want to see more.

For the Shadow Isles: Ledros and the Ruined King as champions. Enough said. And all the lore that would come with that, of course.

With Shurima, it's another region with a lot of potential, but like has been said, very little being explored. There was a bit of movement with Taliyah, but yeah, not much else. We have Noxus invading, Ezreal uncovering secret connections between the region and Zaun, the whole Void business, and of course, the big Azir vs Xerath conflict which we have no idea about in the current story.

I will give A LITTLE BIT of credit though: now that it's basically confirmed that The Climb is canon, we know there will be a fight (or more like a chase) with Taliyah vs Xerath in the near future. But the context of this fight? We know nothing about it. I can at least assume that, while Taliyah might not be a big fan of Azir's "SHURIMA"-ing around the land and Azir might not be that knowledgeable about the current affairs of the common Shuriman people like Taliyah, I think that the two of them might find common ground in stopping this power-hungry Ascended maniac who is more powerful than most people in this game's universe and has the whole region's champions' names on his list.

With Targon, I think we need another Solari champion. There have been loads of complaints about them needing to be rounded out, and I agree. Plus, the Lunari actually outnumber the Solari 3 to 1 in the game, counting Zoe, which is completely inaccurate to how many Solari vs Lunari exist in the actual lore. Thus, there should be plenty of room to round out the Solari and give us another non-Aspect Targonian champion. The Solari can't all be genocidal zealots. Though I guess we could have one of those in the game as well, since Leona doesn't exactly fit that model either.

For the Void, Voidborn lore. Though the region's been getting a lot of attention, the only actual Voidborn with fully-fleshed-out lore is Vel'Koz. I know Cho'Gath is due for a rework sometime soon and is on the top priority list, but since other reworks are coming before his, I sure hope we get some more lore on the other Voidborn before then. We did get Adaptation, but that was told from Rengar's perspective, with Kha'Zix simply as the monstrous enemy. Regarding the suggestion about a traitor Voidborn, I've actually speculated before that Kha'Zix is the most likely candidate for that at the moment, since - though still alien - his personality is probably the most relatable to actual people's personalities, and his whole purpose is to change, not for the Watchers' survival, but for his own. At least, that's what we know now, but again, none of the Voidborn have full lore yet! We don't really know anything about them!

My personal hopes for the lore:

Piltover Having shown some more interactions with other nations would really be fine. This can also get represented in future champion releases. Piltover and Zaun are supposed to be cultural melting pots, the progress is luring people to them from all over Runeterra, but when it comes to champions from these places, then they really are not all that diverse.

A Piltovan champion with Ionian origins, for example, would be something that I would really enjoy to see in the game. Also, some champions need to get involved with other champions more. Orianna feels so extremely isolated when it comes to lore, it makes me sad. Blitzcrank is stated on universe to be a "related" champion, I would like to see this explored. Blitzcrank and Orianna are 2 sides of the same coin. Orianna has been human once, but lost her humanity over time by augmenting herself more and more with hextech, up to the point that her entire body is made of it. Blitzcrank is a completely artificial being... but he gained conciousness.

Maybe a story in which Blitzcrank gets damaged trying to save people, then encountering Orianna, who takes him in and starts repairing him. Meanwhile they share their experiences in these cities.

Also: What Piltover lacks in my opinion is a real villain who origins from there. Looking at the stories, all the big antagonists for them are actually Zaunites like Jinx or Urgot. Would be great to get an evil Piltovan for a change to mix it up. Maybe some kind of noble who finds his joy in killing people on the streets of Piltover? Maybe some crazy servant of a house of Piltover (a maid, perhaps?), completely obsessed with their master and trying to ensure the success of their house by cruel means?

Zaun First and foremost: CHEMBARONS!

We need a chembaron champion introduced in this game. We read quite alot about them, they are the big fish down there in Zaun and yet not a single one is significant enough to become a champion? We just read about them getting hunted down by Warwick, Urgot, and Camille. Giving us a story from the viewpoint of a chembaron would also be fairly interesting.

They could also finally give us a story in which we are going into one of the cultivairs. Ever since I read about them in the Zaun lore update, I want to know more about them. These isles of nature in a polluted city like Zaun are something that really fascinates me.

Maybe we could get a lore update about chemtech, too. While hextech has been brought up quite alot, I get the feeling we don't really know alot about the subject of chemtech, which is supposed to be hextech's dirty sister. Twitch and Singed were also left out in the Zaun lore update, so giving us more information alongside updated lore for these 2 would be welcome.

Then I also think the Glorious Evolved should have more spotlight. Thinking about it, Zaun really has a nice mix of different cults dwelling in the smokes and fumes. The Sons of Ur got quite some attention in the last time (which I loved), now maybe changing focus on another group of people like the Glorious Evolved could be interesting.

Personally, I just want everyone to feel lore canon. For example, where is Syndra, what is Sona doing, has Jax found anyone strong enough to aid him for his task, where is sivir, what about Soraka/Janna, what is Shaco and many, many more.

I want more Shadow isles champions and lore. Because it gives more freedom. Creatively speaking.

I'm fine with whatever is being given to me, to be honest. Tho I wouldn't mind something either for Kayle, Morgana or Syndra.

I know Kayle and Morgana are in the "waiting" spot, that very spot where they won't get any stories until the end of the Demacian conflict because they don't exactly fit anytime sooner. Which does annoy me because as it is we have no idea what they've been doing. I would absolutely love a story for either telling what they have done during the last millenia (other than going to the Celestial Realm, and crying in the woods). I have little hope but who knows!

On Syndra's side... Well it's more so that she's in a spot where she could be a huge player in the Ionian conflict, but she was removed from any relation to everything and doesn't quite fit anywhere. But overall I feel like Riot is either reluctant or has no idea what to write for Ionia because it always comes back to "Noxus is/was there!". Which is understandable given the impact Noxus had on Ionia... But still.
