The old one, and I will say this once, DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A GODDAMN ASSASSIN. Sorry, I see a lot of people complaining and that's all I think about. She's supposed to look badass, and this new art works SO much better for that

Of COURSE I hated the new one when it came out. The new anything always sucks. But I've come to like it now and don't really miss the old one.

Fiora is a different story for me though.

Prefer the old one as well.

New one makes her look more "evil". Like she's killing for run. She's not really evil. She just does her job.

Old one she's expressionless, focused on her targets. Also looks more like she's "dancing" while she fights. Instead of charging. She doesn't charge. If she was coming out of 'gate' on top of a target it'd make more sense. But she's charging out of a 'gate'.

New one's face also looks way too skin. Supermodel skinny. That's not a normal face. She's athletic. She has muscles. While it does look a little chubby, it's more accurate.

Hair looks better too. Why is the new one flailing to the side when she's charging forward? Side with her arm up I can understand as it's in the way. But the other side should be flowing back, not to the side.

I like the colors, the effects and their overall intensity in the newer splash art, but I find the older one more human and more appealing (body wise)

Katarina in her new spash look like some kind of Joker-female wannabe, which is completely out of character. She's suppose to be a beautiful young assassin that believe in the "greater noxus" and the ideals of her father and is ready to do anything be it dirtying her hand. She's a "honorable" assassin, not a mad killer. She's not insane, unlike what she looks in the new splash.

While new splash is decent, the artwork is on a lower level when compared to the older splash in my opinion.

The newer artwork feels like it dehumanizes Katarina to me, which I don't like. She looks a bit too crazy considering her backstory.

Why downgrade the art Riot?

The new portrait is just awful compared to the old one. Riot please, don't skimp on your art!

That being said, the older splash was also much better than the current one. RIot, don't downgrade your art, it should be improving!

i guess as a kat main i better step into this B) although yes i did like that splash art, it really had nothing to do with the character herself (what was the lightning???) the new splash art shows her in action actually using her spells and murdering people as opposed to flying in the middle of a thunder storm. but yea both splashes have a special place in my heart

but the new one stylistically and technique-wise is better

I get where people are coming from, especially when you compare her old splash to her new skins, but I do like her new splash; at least face wise. Having said that, Riot put fans in a terrible position changing faces like this.

You simply don't like the new art style, it's ok, you don't have to like everything about the game. I know the temptation to name every possible reason why this splash is bad in your eyes is strong (and i would have agreed with you when i first saw the first wave of the new portraits), but trust me, it brings nothing but pointless discussion about artistical tastes, which is personal and actually, well... pointless.

The new one is ok, her hair seems a little clumped together is all imo.

Old one was pretty outdated, it worked, but it was outdated.

I cannot stand the way her leg is drawn in the new one though, it just doesn't look right at all.

She looks like a posing prostitute in the old one. I mean, that's not a bad thing (all female champs should have prostitute looking skins), but just not for the base skin.
