I read both sisters' biographies, and I cannot discern why Morgana feels so tormented. I understand that Morgana's dad died; however, everyone's dad dies at some point. His death cannot be the sole source of her 'suffering,' correct? (Also, does anyone know why Kayle has judged Demacia as unworthy?)

Imagine your sibling tried to kill you and in the following fight you accidentally kill your own father. Then your sibling just leaves without saying a single word. I think that would mess anybody up. Morgana blames the celestial powers granted to Kayle and her for it, but can't get rid of them. She's walking around with a constant reminder of the power that killed so many innocents and changed Kayle into a judge without mercy, in a country that punishes the innocent just for being different.
It doesn't help that Morgana is very empathetic and is affected heavily if people are treated unjustly.
Edit: That's Morgana's point of view. I don't want to portray Kayle as evil here. She's fighting her own battles and doing what she thinks is right.
Well Demacia either imprisons, executes, or enslaves any mages born within their territory. So that'd be a reason to judge them as unworthy.
Id be angry if I was the result of my fathers death was because of me.
It's less her dad dying and more the whole becoming a demi god who is the physical embodiment of justice when she never asked for that.
Also to everyone who is saying Morgana is the good one; she did kill a dude because he was trying to arrest her and caused mass riots that killed their father. Kayle didn't actually kill anyone around that time.
Because her sister is such a baddie that Morgana feels sorry for her and since Kayle is big-freakin-baddie then she is suffering so much for her and for humans that she cares so much for.
That's basically the lore.

Old Morgana was angry new Morg was angry when her dad died.
Who knows but between morg and kayle morg defintely got the better body in the family so who knows why shes angry i say kayle should be angry. Its like TF blade and his brother.
I think she percieves her role as an aspect as a torment. She actively tried to cut her wings of for example.
It might be that she sealed her celestial essence with a Darkin, the chains.
We still have no idea what the chains are, or where they came from. We only get one line saying she tied up her wings with an iron chain. That does not explain why the chain is a bunch of floating metal sigils, or why she can now throw giant evil chains at people.
We'll just have to wait for the story when Varus wonders into Demacia looking for his sister.
But who knows, maybe Riot will release another glowing purple female from Demacia who wants to cast judgment on the gods themselves. It's entirely possible.
