Will Aatroxes sword be redesigned?

In the most recent Champion Roadmap we finally got some actual information on what reworked Aatrox will play like and what Champions team want to do with him, but near the end of his part of the post i spotted some rather interesting wording by Reav3.

"And he’s definitely gonna have a giant Darkin sword that feeds on the death and destruction of all humanity. You know, typical Darkin stuff."

Why would he mention this? I mean this goes without saying does it not, but the way it is worded made me think that Aatroxes sword might get redesigned. But why would Riot redo Aatroxes most iconic feature, the sword makes Aatrox what he is.

Well if you look at his sword as badass as it is its design is somewhat strange. It has 3 Edges that are not a single smooth blade but rather a collection of bladed hooks that would look a bit awkward to use properly. Also his sword does not seem to be a solid object like Varuses bow or Rhaasts scythe, but instead moves around and shifts which while cool kinda break the whole "greatsword" theme they want to go with him. This is most apparent in his Ult form where the blade extends to its limit which makes slicing with it kinda non plausible as there is no actual blade to cut with.

Also none of his skins share the tri-blade design of his base instead going for a standard 1 blade design which i think Riot would go for IF they decided to change his base sword. I hope you are all as excited for AA mans rework as i am as it is the most hyped rework for me since i started playing all those moons ago. TY ^-^

He's only getting a gameplay update so I doubt it'll change

Aatrox's sword was clearly designed after the imagery of a spine, probably because of his association to things like blood and war/death and stuff.

That said, I wouldn't say his sword is particularly out of place with other known Darkins given when Kayn is taken over by Rhaast, the scythe does morph and take on the appearance of "anatomy" like features as well, such as growing teeth on the edge of the scythe which combined with the eye on the scythe, the weapon looks like some kind of "head".

The only one who may need a weapon re-design is probably Varus, given the bow's colour scheme and general design philosophy is clearly not in match with the other 2 prominent Darkin figures, especially given Varus was never supposed to be associated with Darkins initially and was only retcooned to be so.

Though I guess you could make the argument that Varus has not been fully Darkin'ed yet (and is probably harder to given it's not 1v1 but 1v2 inside), and is in a state much like Kayn's base form where the weapon looks more similar to a normal weapon before being taken over by Rhaast.
