My Only Complain with Yorick's Rework

Now this has nothing to do with his kit or his number, I don't care about that. What I care about is his visual, most definitely a step up from his old by art and modeling standpoints, but he is so generic looking and I honestly detest the direction they took him. First of all, when someone showed me out of context footage of his game play I legit thought they made a new Sion skin, until I saw him use abilities. Second, Yorick being an ugly grave digger was freaking awesome! It was the soul reason I bought him in the first place. Third, I think his color pallet is boring and doesn't fit Yorick what so ever. Fourth, his shovel looks like an axe, which aided in my belief that he was Sion. Fifth, WHERE IS HIS LANTERN RITO, PLZ!!!!

Overall I love his new kit, it looks much healthier than his old and it adds a certain niche that few characters have yet to fill. His new look and lore bore me and should has been repurposed onto another champion.

Champions don't need vast extensive lore background all the time. Don't get me wrong it works for people like Taric, but all Yorick had to be was a grave digger. That's it.

That is exaclty the problem, champions NEED something to be interesting characters for the game, they arent random NPCs.

The old Yorick was as important as "The boatman" of Bilgewater... just a random dude who lives where he lives and does his job... nothing changes in his live and no one cares about him... he is just there, doing his job.

You're probably going to get a lot of responses of folk disagreeing with you and saying they like the new version better. That doesn't negate what you said, exactly, but each champion Riot makes has fans for a reason, some much less than others. Unfortunately what you liked about Yorick is exactly why a lot of others disliked him or more probably were entirely ambivalent toward him. In this case Riot chose to cater more toward the popular than the old fans. I won't say what they did is right or wrong. But I'm just giving you a forewarning of what was done and why. They changed a champion that catered to a very specific niche and turned him into one to be more enjoyable to the masses. And those masses will probably come to say their disagreement.
