Who is LoL's true Big Bad?

There's plenty of candidates. Lissandra Swain Xerath Mordekaiser etc.

But who do you think stands out as the primo Big Villain in the lore? I put my money on Lissandra, personally. Don't get much bigger than trying to ice age the world.

Soraka . She throws bananas at your face. That's pretty mean

There is only one true villain of evilness in the lore of LoL.

He, who can see the fear of your heart.

The Timeless Corrupter of the Cosmos.

The one feared by death itself.

The mastermind of darkness.

The Warlock of Destruction.

The leprechaun of chaos.

The baron of doom.

The Superb Villain.

The Final Boss.

Veigar Veigar.

He might be not the biggest, but sure that he is EVILEST.

I mean, Chogath and the Void literally wants to consume all of Runeterra and probably the universe at large too.

Yeah, I'd have to say the most likely "final boss" is whatever could be considered the leader of the Void, since while all the other factions want to rule the world to a degree, the Void just wants to destroy it all.

Either that or AurelionSol decides that after he's free of Targon's control, he may as well destroy the world anyway to ensure no more Targons arise again in the future.

How about consuming the world?Chogath or burning everything to the ground?Brand

I mean Lissandras plan will at least still leave some people alive...

The true villain of league?

It's the balance team. Or possibly just TenCent if you believe the chinese overlord conspiracy theories.

I feel like this is always a difficult question to address, because the scale of powers in League are so variable. We have champs that are literally just human with different abilities in the same universe as a being that can create stars or be the end-all of all beings. I imagine there are battles waging that certain champs have no knowledge of on both ends (too small for them to care, too large for them to be aware).

For example, in the Bilgewater lore Gangplank was described to be pretty sinister. Twisted Fate and Graves were both portrayed as being able to take on several average foes together with some technology and magic at their disposal. But then they started describing the Harrowing and how evil and corrupted other beings like Hecarim, Mordekaiser, and Thresh are. And the reader is thinking "How the hell is Ms. Fortune and an army of piratey people going to take on these undead beasts?" Then we see Lucian come in with light pistols and that seems like an upgrade from the steel and gunpowder of Bilgewater. Then Illaoi comes through with the power of a god in her hands and that takes things to a whole new level.

Skip ahead to the Shurima lore and we are learning about the power of Ascendant individuals like Nasus, Renekton, Azir, etc. The bad guy here is clearly Xerath. And the reader is wondering "How the hell is Nasus or Taliyah going to take on this being of infinite evil arcane energy?"

Now try to put Lucian or Gangplank fighting Xerath or Nasus and Renekton fighting the Harrowing, and it creates a real contrast. There are certain champions that just do not stand a chance against each other and it makes it really difficult to paint a picture with such broad strokes like figuring out "Who is the Big Bad Guy in Runeterra?"

I would compare it to The Avengers. Black Widow and Hawkeye are on the team, but they could not fight The Hulk, Ironman, Thor, or really any other superheroes. All they do is interact with non-superhumans or create distractions, etc. while the real heroes fight the larger battles. It does not make their characters fun to watch or uninteresting, though. We just have to realize that they will never be a candidate for the ultimate protagonist of Marvel's universe. They could have their own show/movie, and they would have an evil villain that the audience could hate and he could threaten people's lives. But when you then create an antagonist that can devour the sun or manipulate our very existence then their story would become completely irrelevant to that villain.

On a bigger scale, I'd have to say Chogath and the Void

On a smaller scale, there are a crap top of pretty big baddies like Mordekaiser Swain Fiddlesticks(this is me hoping for something amazing in his new lore)

But idk aboutViktor, robotic enhancements don't sound too bad.

Xerath or Lissandra

Asudurga8/19/2016, 3:32:24 AM1 votes

Velkoz Because he works from behind the scenes, orchestrating everything in his endless pursuit for knowledge. The Void itself is a mass big bad, but someone like Vel'Koz who seems to be the most intelligent Void creature is far more dangerous than the likes of Lissandra or even Gangplank for the sheer amount of power he has behind the scenes manipulating everything to his advantage or in an upfront battle scenario with his immense power.

The upcoming Void overlord/creator champion, who'll be Aurelion Sol's rival.

Byuiso8/18/2016, 11:44:16 AM1 votes

Whichever entity Aurelion Sol encountered and will probably be his rival.

Seems like it's the supreme Voidborn or extremely high on the power scale.

Lissandra is a centuries old iceborn transformed by the watchers and granted powers in servitude. The watchers granted the ice born(Humans of the freljord) knowledge and power in exchange for what servitude. After the watchers were thrown from the Howling Abyss, there was a huge ice born war for control between the three sisters, Avarosa, Serylda and herself, Lissandra in a power struggle for dominance over the freljord. It ended with no victor but Averosa was assassinated by Lissandra at the very end. Lissandra believes that several watchers survived howling abyss and await their return to the surface.

During her time she has created or owned countless artifacts made of a substance called true ice which is a type of ice which can never melt. Her vision is to transform the dominate and transform the world in the name of the witchers believing that one day they shall return. To this end she has a plan to turn each tribe against each other throwing it into a wintery war only to decimate any survivors that stand in her way. She also killed Udyr's Master with the express intent of burying Udyr in an avalanche. Lissandra also corrupted the Frostguard by killing their leader, took their shape and overtime transform their traditions to suit Lissandra to create an army for the watchers.

For those unaware Black frost Anivia is Anivia's Legendary skin, where she takes a more sinister appearance akin to that of Lissandra's. Anivia expresses her ideals to bury the world in ice and how she herself failed the freljord granting a brief glimpse of what would happen should Lissandra succeed.

"You may fight this battle, but I have already won the war."

Lissandra is definitely up there for a big bad. She's just waiting for a time to execute it while Sejuani and Ashe fight each other for control over freljord.

Other candidates though is maybe Karthus, Xerath , whoever or whatever controls the void, and I'm not sure if you can include the world Runes but I'll include them.

vampirekid138/18/2016, 12:50:59 PM1 votes

what is mordekaiser doing in this list though.....

Meep Man8/18/2016, 12:53:07 PM1 votes

Xerath and Lissandra shouldn't be here in my opinion. Mordekaiser is a candidate, but we have to explore him more to know. Swain is a good condidate, but we also could use more info on him.

I think the big bad is The Void really.

ModWulf Helhammer8/18/2016, 1:29:52 PM1 votes

For the planet of Runeterra, probably the Shadow Isles (the Ruined King) or if someone gets ahold of the magic Runes

For the universe as a whole, the Void
