What is his lore? Who wrote it? Why does it have so many questions? Will it be followed-up with a larger reveal, or will it stay the same for another year? Does Rammus know other Champions? Is Rammus from Shurima, or somewhere else? None can say. All we do know is that it would be a fool's errand to try to stop his inexorable lore.

Its been 9 months Tesla , Riot's lore will be and should be judged by what is released.

And even before that his lore- despite having more text - was kind of vague . Rammus to me is the definition of: random filler tank champ.

My theory is that he is an Anscended like Azir... although he was no human that ascended but an animal. But that's just my theory tho...

Amumu is more like "revival gone horribly wrong" - I guess that's what happens if you throw a corpse into the ascension process... My theory is that ascenion gives you exactly what you want, or what image you have in your head when you start the ritual. Azir, Renekton and Nasus identified with their protective gods, aka became like them. Xerath only wanted freedom - so he was freed of his material shackles.

But what could an animal want? Durability, strenght... nothing too interesting, resulting in Rammus...

And a dead person... well, I can imagine being put into a coffin for ages is quite... lonely at some times...

I don't think there were yordles at this point of time in shurima. I get more the feeling that Amumu was the last one in a dynasty, probably a child emperor (that happened sometimes in history btw). When he died they probably tried to revive him in an last desperate attempt to save the royal bloodline somehow, but something went horribly wrong... I doubt that's it's a real "curse"...

Rammus on the other hand.... I'm still with my animal hypothesis: because what could an Armadillo wish for? Simply being BETTER at being an armadillo (because this might be the only thing that even come to his animal mind if the ritual suddenly "asks":" Yo dude what kind of powers do you want?"). Size and protection from enemies, and enough power to shake the earth.

I doubt that he is an ascended yordle for he is quite the loner and not very talknative. You know how such yrdles usually end up... Veigar

This is far too interesting a theory to actually happen.

Its a released product, i'm going to judge it. That doesn't mean we can't revisit the judgement when they release more content.

Its also the entirety of rammus' lore, which is what I'll judge it by until i have a reason to revisit my judgement.

I don't know anything about Rammus actually :P .

I don't take things as they might be one day, Potential™ is such a worthless thing to discuss when judging a product.

Time to synthesize a sentient being inside of another human: approximately 9 months Time to create a backstory for a mutant armadillo: somewhat longer

Seriously, though, until I get a better sense for what Narrative's up to, I'm not exactly keen to see Rammus' new lore. Some say Narrative* isn't doing enough lately. Myself, I think they've done quite enough.

Let us not assassinate this lore further. You've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?

*: I know that Narrative is not the sole master of Riot's lore, but as the authors of its written lore, it seems to me that they do warrant particular attention. Besides, I just can't imagine IronStylus signing off on the Great Retcon. That would break my cupcake heart.

I'm curious about which Rioters were against it, myself. It'd be nice to actually see that internal dialogue Riot says happened. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure IronStylus would have. The quote escapes me, but I seem to recall him saying that in his mind League of Legends was akin to Smash Bros. rather than being one of the best examples of story and gameplay integration (and this was pre-retcon).

Tried to Google and I couldn't find it, though, so I hope I'm not needlessly slandering someone.

To tell you the truth, this is what I thought as well: if I had to bet on it, I'd say IronStylus nodded along with the Great Retcon. But my tiny cupcake heart just can't take it. At the very least, I have to think that he made that decision without fully understanding its consequences.

Hm, so what was in Tesla's comments that nearly all of them are deleted?

It's the entire Rammus' lore for about 8 months.

Therefore it's a final product until it's proven otherwise.

Now we can leave it at this.

League's lore will always be evolving and changing, does that mean it'll always be off limits to criticism as it will always be a work in progress?

You can't dispute the OP's actual feelings, Riot's officially released product has disappointed them. Riot failing to communicate their plans in an effective manner doesn't change or excuse the failings of their product.

Ok , I'm not quite sure on this next point, pointing out that rammus' Intro lore is generic is something Riot would consider since its already in their interests to not have generic intro lore but they officially released the generic intro lore? So are you saying that Riot intentionally released sub-par product?

That's fine that their goals are noble. But the sheer power of complaining on the internet accomplishes much more than just annoyance.

You can enjoy things while also still being critical of the places it falls short, in fact doing so is quite healthy.

If you're such a paragon of logic, how could you possibly enjoy anything that requires any sort of suspension of disbelief?

I'm not talking about rammus' full lore, Its still a sub-par generic intro lore compared to others.

This is just gross and disrespectful, don't use mental health as an attack or insult please.

I was hoping for a discussion in good faith but it seems you're more interested in attacking and avoiding any sort of discussion.

For someone who doesn't care about feelings, you sure do type with a lot of capital letters. And feel obligated to defend a company that you think releases disappointing stories.
