Same guy who predicted the new champion would have characteristics similar to Gavid. Proceeded to have my thread deleted from downvotes(twice) and disliked(people who thought it was galio rework, or sorag, or he couldnt be a tree/plant because malphite and zyra were already plant-like) even with substantial evidence. So let's not act like all ideas are crazy and not downvote for the sake of having an opinion/theory. If you disagree, doesn't mean you have to downvote. Flammatory, misleading, and off-topic threads deserved to be downvoted, not ones that furthers discussions. cough ahem, anyway.

So I noticed a few things when it comes to this new champion. Yes, he's clearly part tree but the features he has makes him a lot different then most treants we can imagine.(Look up google images of treants, even maokai)

Could he have once been human at one point?

  1. His Extremely Humanoid Face

This is what really separates him from most treants for me. His eyes still have pupils, the exact same structure/shape as human eyes for that matter. Not to mention his lips and nose just adds more evidence to that. His legs aren't massive or short, stumpy trunks, they are slim and long just like a humans. Also, his legs are seem to made of entirely grass from what we can see, so it makes me believe that he's not just some ordinary treant. Especially with mushrooms growing on his head.

  1. He Has A Gauntlet/Armor

Now this is something you don't really see on any treant/spirit. On his left arm he has a gauntlet made out of wood/mushrooms. Why would a treant or spirit find it necessary to craft a piece of armor or gauntlet? Not only that, what would give Ivern the idea of making one in the first place? I believe he was wearing this gauntlet when he became this spirit, or he got the notion of making one because he was once human.

  1. The way he talks

Seems to know a little bit about human culture. "Hop to that lilly pad in the sky", that's obviously a frog heaven but this concept of heaven is human religion, not tree religion (or maybe it is?). Also talks about dancing, it just seems like he's not just some sort of tree who came to life.

Maybe he was supposed to be a hunter, but instead fell in love with the life of the jungle and somehow was infused with that very same spirit. Or he could have been a magician fascinated by the jungle that he found out a way to use his magic to infuse himself with the essence of the jungle?

We're gonna find out in a week but just my thoughts looking at his design.

I too think he was human at one point, the shape of his arms too human like and his voice has less of a creaky tree voice and more of an old man that's been in the wilderness too long voice

My ideas atm are Ionian sage slowly turning into a tree, or Zaunite Experiment because those are fun.

What if he is still human and merely "wears" a magical wood-bodysuit?

Kind of like the swamp guy from avatar the last airbender
