That the same thing that trap Mordekaiser into his armor (if someone traped him that is) the same person/thing that trap Nautilus in his armor/suit

Hmmm, if the old lore was still canon i would have said "probably just a coincidence" but right now, considering the ties between Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles it might even make sense. Who knows, we don't even know if Nautilus and Mordekaiser are beings encased in cold metal or just hollow sentient armors. Hell, the Black Goo thing that transformed Nautilus could be easily ret-conned into the Black Mist for what we know. Interesting point for some speculation.

Yeah I think that at this point it is likely that Nautilus was changed by the black mist.

I guess that the mist appeared and his ship had to leave him behind, the undeads probably didn't check underwater, hence why Nautilus wasn't taken to the shadow isles.

I think it's unlikely. But it could be shadow isles related.

Whatever it is, remember Nautilus still loves his home, Nautilus is a bilgewater champion.

Likely not. The way that Morderkaiser's character is drawn out is that he is in control of himself. Morderkaiser simply does not show what he looks like under that metal suit. So maybe Morderkaiser left a magical trap that is Nautilus's diving suit.
