Once again, why does the story/lore/foundations team keep ignoring these boards?

Why?

Actually, if you dig around for a bit you'll notice a Narrative writer "Fauxschizzle" and the Narrative Lead "Jaredan" popping up here and there. Not a lot, but enough for their presence to be noticed.

To be fair, they never respond some of the highest rated issues.

They mainly talk about newly released content and completely ignore directly answering any questions about the retcon with substantive answers.

It may also just be perspective of who you ask. A lot of people are upset about the retcon. You have a right to be. Especially since Rito has yet to give us a substantial amount of lore in the form of written story as opposed to all these videos and 1 comic. However, even when Narrative does attempt to talk, most people do not listen or let their anger cloud their judgement. Jaredan (narrative lead) said himself he knows that no matter what he says, he needs to bring proof. Narrative is around. They are working, but they can't just ALL IN with what they have. If they did, congrats. We have a lot of lore that may not be FULLY consistent, and we may not have that much development right after (not that we really had much within the past, what? 9 months?)

Regardless, they do exist. They are here. And they are trying. Jaredan also gave the reason that if he did say what was suppose to be coming, then it'd HAVE to. It'll practically become a promise, and anything could be changed while it's a WIP.

Also, while most angry lore fans would agree that the Retcon was a bad idea, reverting it would probably be worse. It's bad business practice.

Sorry, but your post sounds stupidly niave to me. Riot has already shown us that we can't trust them with a "sit and wait" attitude for new lore... They'll just start retconning stuff!

Instead of developing their lore, they'll retcon it.

Based on both the speed and quality of the newly created lore, it really feels like Riot isn't currently invested in Runeterra having a cohesive narrative anymore.

Did...you just completely shut down my post with the reasoning of "stupidly niave"?

In fact, disregard that. Right now, you're saying the "sit and wait" attitude does not work. In that case, are you suggesting for us to continuously make complaint threads and littering the boards with nothing but negative attitude about something we cannot change?

Do you honestly believe that if you could reach over 100 complaints Riot will suddenly change their minds and "RETCON their RETCON"?

Instead of developing their lore, they'll retcon it.

^If so, you're trying to get them to do what you just complained about.

Not only that, but your entire view process means that no matter what Riot does, unless it is 100% EXACTLY how you want, it is not good enough. It will never be good enough. The retcon has been here for so long, there is absolutely no point for Riot to go back on it. Doing so would undermine the champs that HAVE no reason for being in the league. Which means you will have your Runeterra, but there will STILL be a retcon for those who never found the IoW in the first place. That would be bad.

Then again, Riot might just continue retconning what it hasn't retconned yet. They've been happily changing/removing not only the IoW, but also characters. I reckon people care about these characters more than about the world.

Of course they will.

They removed the IoW. That means, they'll eventually have to get to every single champion that has "League of Legends" or "Institute of War" in their bio. Some will be minimal, such as Garen or Lux (I mean, come on. How heavily does the League influence their personal story if you take it away)

There will be those that are minor. Such as Orianna . And, note. Her obsession with joining League is more of a detail. You can just as easily say the original girl died trying to get into something else. Either way, the father is going to make a robot child as a replacement.

Those whose origins will change because SUMMONERS is their reason. Nasus Renekton Kayle Morgana (*Note, Jaredan, Narrative Lead, said that Kayle and Morganna will not be angels and keep their otherwordly presence. In other words, they will most likely remain as aliens fighting for their own reasons)

Then, there are the one's where we're just like FUUUUUUUUUUH! Shaco Nocturne Jax {champion:9}} At least with Jax, League mostly affected his weapon of choice. He can now have personal reasons.

I'm not talking about their background, but about their character. They're entirely free to change the backgrounds of these characters, it's expected of Riot after the announcement of the removal of the IoW. The characters is what I, and I suspect other people, care about.

Dont worry, its just Impetual, we rarely take him seriously now these days.

Some of them will most likely be placed in certain areas like Shaco being from the Glades, and Nocturne being from the Shadow Isles or even the Glades as well. Jax, I dont know about Jax, his lore need a complete change (besides his character tropes, which seem fine as they are). Fiddle will most likely be from the Voodoo Lands since he looks like a Voodoo puppet/scarecrow with a soul (artificial or from a person) weirdly attached to it by magic.

As I said, most of the heavily League related champions can be nicely placed in different factions or places.
