There are still plenty of characters that need updates to their splash art , like Shen, Kennen, Poppy, Udyr, Shaco, Blitzcrank (to name a few). How come Rengar, a champion released only two years ago. is getting an update?
Cause Rengar only has like what? 2 skins? He deserves an updated splash first compared to those champs that have 3-4+ skins.
I think they just update splash art based on who can create a better splash art for a particular champion; it makes for bad art if they just force an artist to make a splash art without a clear idea of the champion, etc. They probably have a long list of champions that could use an updated splash art, and the artists pick the ones they want to work on and do that. Someone probably had a cool idea for a Rengar splash art and made one, which is why they're adding it now.
