What if the big fist guy was working for Viktor

Viktor does have his acolytes, and the guy was heavily augmented. Not to mention how it looked like they were in Zaun, Viktor's home town.

I may be in the minority, but I doubt he has any direct connection to Viktor. There is a possibility that his arm and supplemental machinery were designed by Viktor, but I do not think he is actively working for Viktor. The Machine Herald is not a fool, and the whole purpose of augmenting himself and others is to prove the merits of his research. Causing trouble, especially through acolytes, who are representative of Viktor's Glorious Evolution, would seriously harm the public perception of his work.

And if Riot tries to justify a connection by explaining Viktor sent a "lackey" to steal the time manipulating device, which spits in the face of his characterization, again, I swear by all that is good and cybernetic there will be hell to pay.

Actually my theory is that he was augmented by stanwick piddly.

I mean stanwick piddly was the one who created Urgot(though he stole the technology from Viktor) and the technology on the brute in the trailer looked a lot like Urgots technology. Then there is the fact that the augmented guy had some exploitable weak spots in his cyborg arm and I honestly doubt that viktor with his strive for perfection, would create something that can explode that easily if its damaged at the right spots.

Last but not least,if the brute was working for someone who wanted that machine, then this would fit much better to piddly than viktor(yeah viktor was trying to steal one of jayces machines in jayces original lore, but that thing got quickly retconned)

It would be cool if the thug was actually hired by Stanwick. Stanwick did steal Viktor's work and rebuilt Urgot with The Machine Herald's blueprints.

Yeah, augmenting a local thug and using him to try and steal the time-control device, and then claiming the device as his own invention is such a Stanwick thing to do. Viktor would at least attempt to work with Ekko before sending a goon to kill him.

I dont think that this guy was working for Viktor. I forgot what his name was, but he was probably working for the guy who revived Urgot, explaining why they look so similar. Viktor's creations look alot more sophisticated than the man in the teaser.

I don't think Viktor was directly responsible for that guy, as his augments seemed kinda shoddy and only half-done. I don't think Viktor would go for such half-measures if he fully initiated someone into the 'Glorious Evolution'

FOR Viktor-Y!!

Nah, viktor aint into that kinky shit

I can see that. For folks living in the really sucky parts of Zaun I'd imagine Viktor's procedures to "improve their lives" and "give them an advantage" and other similar features would go over really well. Plus there'd be a ton of people who lost body parts from dangerous machinery, meaning the prosthetics industry must be booming!

A possibility, you should ask this question once the Ekko Q&A starts.
