Shyvana's new place: caught between two worlds, or corrupted?
The wording with Shyvana concerns me because two ideas seem to be getting muddied together--mastery of her dual bloods, or purging the human corruption to becoming full dragon.
The former seems to be expressed as she was before, but the latter is now insinuated in her origin. She isn't the child of love between two people of different worlds, and must navigate her identity between them. Her existence came about of a magical incursion that contaminated her during infancy, fundamentally altering her pure dragon self.
... but she's being written as if there is something for her between the two worlds. She isn't fundamentally a being of two worlds, she's one world that's being corrupted into the other. It casts her actions and overall goals in a much different, somewhat more sinister, light. I can't tell if this is intended or not, but I feel its taken a lot of charm out of her origin as a consequence.
