Noxus=Russia

Now hear me out before you downvote. Noxus is like Russia in some senses. Swain is like Stalin, and Marcus DuCouteau is like Trotsky. I'm not sure who was really Lenin, but you get the idea. For those of you who aren't as well-versed in this time period of history:

Karl Marx first came up with the principles of Communism, and shared them with Lenin, who modified them a bit. After the nobility was routed from Russia, Lenin began to establish a Communist government. During this time, Lenin had two second-in-commands: Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky. Trotsky was a war hero; he led the common folk during the revolution, and was well-liked. When Lenin was dying, he wrote in his will that Stalin should not be trusted with power. He knew Stalin was an ambitious and dangerous man. However, Stalin had the will suppressed, and told Trotsky the wrong date of Lenin's funeral. Later on, Trotsky was forced to flee from Russia to Mexico, but Stalin had an assassin kill him with an ice pick to the temple. He was in the artist Diego Rivera's house as a guest. The spot where he died and the house is now a museum in Mexico City [you should visit some time]. Anyway, Stalin then began to run Russia, and...umm...things...weren't good. They were bad. Like, 34 million people dead by the end of his reign bad.

History Lesson Over!

Anyway, Swain is like Stalin (his name is even similar) and Marcus is like Trotsky. Think about it. Swain/Stalin were both powerful political figures, and very manipulative. Trotsky and DuCouteau are both war heroes. Now Trotsky/DuCouteau is gone, and Swain/Stalin is rising to power, much to the dismay of Trotsky/DuCouteau's supporters (i.e. Talon, Katarina, Sion). Coincidence?
