HOLY SHIT!

My absolute favorite thing about it (And about Bilgewater in general) is the effortless blending of golden age piracy and the American west.

The alcohol, ship, crew, and visuals are all very piratey, while the music and gunplay evoke a lot of cowboy(girl?) feelings.

I feel like I could set Johnny Cash as the background to this, and it would fit perfectly. A lot better than in the PotC trailers, anyway.

It was awesome, but there are some things that bother me too much.

Her guns, the lack of aiming (and style of guns) of the other pirates, and drinking from a glass that a black widow was in.

I dont like the looks of MF, also she has modern guns in this animation which makes her feel even less like the actual MF

This was perfect! I am a very happy MF main!

Also, that music was absolutely spot on!

i just refreshed the universe page and i was like...what the...why did this change ! it was pretty awesome yeah!

I might be wrong or jumping to conclusions but I always felt that the hearts is symbolic to her survival.

In my opinion, which is certainly questionable haha, Surrender is a darker exploration of who Fortune is. It deepens her character and, to me, makes her more interesting than the bubbly gun wieldin' gal you get in game. There's some kind of creepy gritty resolve to do dirty work and deal with the demons later in this. Honestly, she scares me. But I'm also in love with her. Which is common in my life...

Me too! I always believed MF to be different than her in game character. After watching this animatic, it gave me goosebumps knowing what the real MF be like.

I do take issue with the spider though. The profile they used was a Black Widow, but that species of spider would never actually get territorial or aggressive towards a human. Seriously, even if I poke their web with my finger they run for the nearest hiding place. The use of that species in the animation propagates unnecessary fear of non-aggressive kinds of spiders.

They should have used a Wolf Spider instead, because those fuckers are actually territorial and aggressive.
