Maybe her elders wanted to restrain her powers, cause she has a still unknown connection to the Void.
Possibly, but some reasons just aren't screaming sauce to me.
Beings of supernatural or psychic powers in all forms of media normally have some form of levitation, so I wouldn't be surprised.
I can understand the dual voice thing, but Malzahar and Kassadin both have their minds twisted by the void and are almost possessed in a way (Kassadin to a lesser extent since he still has some humanity) and being possessed by an entity in general normally causes the voice to shift.
Although, iif Syndra's power was from the void, her mentor would have noticed it long ago and Syndra would be insane in the broken mind sense, but she is insane in the power hungry sense. Humans with affiliation with the void would have experience constant visions of it as well.
Purple is a common color when it comes to magical ability and psychic prowess.
I wouldn't call Syndra insane, power hungry (and maybe a superiority complex) at the most and angered that someone would restrict her powers when she wants them to grow.
I feel like if Syndra's powers were from the void her abilities would have at least some sort of connection to the void. Even if she wasn't aware of the connection, it'd be there. But Syndra's power all comes from summoning ... generic matter, which is very different to all of the void champions. No weird portals or anything like that.
