So I've had DJ Sona since it first came out and I still cannot understand a single word even with the music off I know she's supposed to say words or something but like... It's so distorted it's impossible to understand.
Placentas3 votesThat's one of my favorite parts of the skin. Sometimes if I am just too tired and I am playing Sona because she is EZ I will turn off the music and just listen to the sound effects and voice over of the skin. The distortion suites the electronic music umbrella genre that the skin represents.
DwarvenGiant2 votesI'm almost certain I've read before that this actually was the intention.
I don't usually listen to electronic music, but I think this was inspired by things like (and try hearing me out without cringing or anything) Skrillex' Bangarang- The words are blended in with the melody so hard that you can't really recognize what he's saying, but it doesn't matter either- It kinda just works. :P
######Sorry again if the example was poor.
Placentas2 votesNah your example was correct. Skrillex is very mainstream and receives a lot of hate, but he produces some good shit here & there and has opened up a lot of people to the world of electronic music.
Riot commissioned some big names in the electronic scene to create the music for DJ Sona. Bassnectar is probably the most similar to Skrillex so you're not too far off, as well as Dada Life who helped create Kinetic.
I can put some examples where the vocals are similar to when DJ Sona speaks for anyone who is interested... Similar to Ethereal:

Maximum Morde1 votesEh people only look at her bum anyway. What she says is really unimportant.
Buildermann 131 votesI can understand it, sort of. It's also probably on some wiki out there.
Rabblerouser1 voteshttp://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Sona/Quotes Just switch over to the DJ tab.
It doesn't really say what she says save for some.
THOUGH I SWEAR I HEARD IN ONE OF THE "CHANTS" : "Let's mute them."
So clever. I love that. :D
