"Well, we wanted to keep the FEEL of the Institute of War without there being any reason for it anymore, so it just exists as an abandoned building now. We'll probably slap some Shurima McVoidburgers on it in the distant future." - Rito

I'd assume the land that the IoW once occupied is now rural land stuck between the borders of the Kingdom of Demacia and the Noxian Empire.

Of course that's under the premise that Valoran has a geographical "centre" anymore.

It's the site of a literal "plot hole" where the narrative team dumps all of the retconned material ;)

On a more serious note, it's really quite likely that Vessaria and her ilk will have never existed in the new setting and that something completely new will be located in the centre of Valoran when Riot eventually get around to filling that gap.

That map is non-canon. No, we don't have the current canon map. Yes, it's really fucking stupid.

it is now knows as the land of redaction, a void bereft of any history, no one knows why but no faction has even attempted ot settle it due to the unknown landscape and the lack of knowledge regarding the area, most city-states tend to set up their own road system around the void and everyone is content to keep it that way
