It seems like most of the splash updates aren't really welcomed

Because they're temporary and it doesn't matter

Classic Evelynn was a splash update. Classic Warwick was a splash update. Classic Xin Zhao was a placeholder. Masquerade Evelynn was a placeholder. Chances are, if the art looks offensively anime, it's a placeholder. That being said, I'm starting to waver in my resolve that Riot knows what it's doing with this splash unification thing. They've replaced perfect artwork with some Chinese stinkers.

Mostly because of issues with the Chinese comnunity, such as no skeletons allowed in Khartus' splash arts.
