@Riot So why was Crimson Akali outright removed from the game?

Why literally delete a legacy skin instead of just keeping it like other champions? For example, Sasquatch Nunu didn't get deleted, neither did Stinger Akali.

"But its just Akali except red!" New Akali doesn't have the original outfit anyways so why not have Crimson Akali wear the original outfit(pic related)?

They didn't delete it, they updated it to a skin that honestly is amazing. Crimson Akali was okay but honestly you could get the same thing out of an Akali Chroma Pack.

you can argue the same regarding crabgot Also the reason imo they replaced the one skin that resembles old akali is because they simply don't want the old akali in game anymore. It's the same reason Riot stopped doing "traditional skins" to champions, that reason being that having resemblance of the old design of a newly updated champ is counter intuitive from a production standpoint and a waste of time from a thematic standpoint. The old look simply doesn't match the new design and personality the way the team wants to portray the character.

Literally just make a Red Akali Chroma and this problem is fixed.

Sasquatch Nunu didn't get changed but for example Grungy Nunu shares only the name with the old skin while it was also replaced completely. The same fate hit Crimson Akali except they changed the name as well.

"But its just Akali except red!"

There you go, that's why it's gone.

Grungy Nunu wasn't just Nunu but green and it still got changed because it was kinda a shitty skin (and begging for Sesame Street to go full lawsuit on Riot)
