Questions about Soraka in the Dreamin Pool

Just the other I read Syndra's new bio and "The Dreaming Pool" story. I loved it,but it did make me wonder why Soraka was so interested to guide Kalan between 2 paths, instead of save as many lives as possible. Always felt that that was the fundamental difference between Soraka and Bard. He would save only the ones needed so life wouldn't perish, while Soraka would walk on broken glass to save as many as possible. So, why did she let him decide instead of directly guiding him to a path that would presrve as many lives as possible?

Will her lore drastically change her so much? Is she bound by rules far above our knowledge? Has Sirik a bigger role to play?

What bothers me about this is :

"and if you ever deviate from this dark path, they will be lost.”

This makes no sense to me! i never liked "you cannot change your fate" kind of stories. and the question is which path will you choose and why?!

Noxus War would happen in any way, with or without Kalan. Both path was going to cause many deaths.

And I don't think Soraka is a savior. If she tried to stop war, she would eventually kill someone and I believe it is not something she wants.

Bard is more about keeping things in order. He doesn't care about individuals and if it means the entire universe will be saved I'm sure he'd let an entire race die. Right? (someone may correct me on that). Soraka seems to be more about guiding individuals on the right path. A seer that knows the outcomes and offers choices knowing full well which choice they will really take. She describes the 2 paths for Kalan in a way that shows the differences between a selfish man and a noble one. The choice and way it's worded is for his ears so he makes the choice, when in reality it might have larger consequences. Be a traitor, the war ends, your children live and they go on to do something, don't and you live but they don't meaning they won't go on to do something.
