Will Taric still have a hammer?

As most of you know by now, Taric's hammer appears next to the shop keeper in the PBE. This is most likely a teaser, because other old items/visuals also appear next to the shop keeper.

This most likely means one of three things:

  • Taric has a new hammer.
  • Taric has a completely different weapon.
  • Taric doesn't have a weapon at all, just a shield.

Personally I hope it's that he has a new hammer. I think the hammer is iconic at this point and having something else wouldn't be the same. And I doubt he would just carry a shield because that's Braum's thing, but who knows.

What are your guys's opinions?

I just noticed that they reworked both champs who use a hammer and a shield in a row.

But anyway I think the hammer will stay and he merely gets a new one. I mean I don't see a reason why they'd replace it with another weapon considering that: -Taric is meant to be more or less the paladin of the game,so a knightly weapon would make sense -They already have a shield-only user-support and I think Braum only using his shield is pretty iconic for him -They also likely want to avoid similarities to Leona(especially since both are from the same place),so its unlikely to give him a sword -Most other weapons that were used by knights simply look rather brutal,so I'd say they are rather unlikely(though a blunt mace could work) -They reduced the presence of Poppys shield a lot,which might be a way to differentiate the 2 "hammer&shield"-users a bit more.

Of course this is just speculation,so who knows. We'll hopefully get to see the rework next week.

Gems, fabulous, funny, knight in gem armor, hammer and shield... Those are too iconic to simply throw into the trashbin. I think and hope he still uses hammer and shield to protect and fight. Everything else would take a huge chunk out of his personality.

I mean when Sion and Poppy can still have similiar weapons, why can't Taric?
