Can we just get the extended biographies already?

Like, I don't care about the format right now. That can come second. Just I want to read them now and we've been waiting so long.

Like, I don't care about the format right now. That can come second. Just I want to read them now and we've been waiting so long.

There are multiple problems with releasing it now:

  1. **The technology isn't there: ** I have no problem believing this since Riot is still using wonky tech from many years ago with their new stuff. I can also buy that the database used for the in-game client lore and the website are the same and that no one at Narrative thought that might be the case.

Now, to my unenlightened mind, it would be easy to add a second database for short form bios (with a link to the long form story) and the long form lore for the website. But I don't work for a huge multi-national mega-corporation like Riot, so what do I know? :)

  1. **They're weary of releasing content: ** Every time there's a delay in something, anticipation grows. When anticipation grows, expectations increase. When expectations increase, they become impossible to meet and even the best possible story will be considered "disappointing" at best. Who wants to face that kind of pressure, even when aspects of the entire company seem destined to repeat that cycle constantly.

  2. We fans are very brutal: Narrative knows that we're going to "criticize" the living s### out of their stories. Hell, the likely reason why they're rewriting Xerath and Azir right now is because they thought they could get away with turning an interesting champ like Xerath into Jafar and Azir into the Sultan from Disney's Aladdin. No matter what they produce, we're going to tear it apart and leave nothing but bones and gristle. They made us this way, though.
