@Riot, Why Won't The Narrative Department Talk To Us About Lore?

It seems that on the "Story and Art" boards we get more Rioters from other departments talking to us than we get Rioters who are actually from said discipline discussing things with us.

That seems pretty weird. Despite Riot restructuring to better handle lore, the lore side of things still seems pretty neglected.

@Riot, Why isn't the Narrative team talking to us about what they are doing? Their absence creates the notion that they may not even exist and that LoL lore is forgotten and unimportant to RIot.

This seems like as good a post to address this as any. Impetual, you are part of the problem.

I'm just as angry as you are for the years of failure from Riot on this, if not more so, but the way you've been posting is not helping one bit.

You're constantly (at least 3 times a week) posting these click-bait threads to get Rioters to respond to you, months after you said you were "done."
You're always using titles like "Let's Drop The Bullshit Reasons For Lore Stagnancy. Let's Actually Talk About Stuff!"
You know, for a fact, that Riot isn't going to undo the Retcon, yet you keep making the same pleas over and over again.

Yes, Riot's to blame for not producing lore after the Retcon announcement. Yes, Riot's to blame for the lack of communication from their end. Yes, Riot's to blame for the removal of much of the story we fell in love with. Yes, some of us here are upset at the Riot's history of failures at communication and broken promises... Yes, there is much blame to go around.

But with the exception of one non-Narrative Rioter, your efforts have done little but alienate a group of people who are already on edge because they have to deal with the sins of their predecessors.

My apologies If I made any of the non-narrative Rioters feel like they shouldn't post on the Story and Art boards. I think they should. Riot Interacting with the playerbase is never a bad thing.

My post was kind of directed at the Riot Narrative department who seems to pretty much never post on the Story and Art boards. (which is kinda weird).

Sometimes it feels like the Rioters involved in a situation are the ones who don't respond to threads relating to it.

That's kinda weird.

BTW, I don't really think I said anything out of line in my original post.

I just wish the Rioters involved with a certain discipline would have some kind of forum presence for the respective board.

To be fair though, I've been playing this game since season 1. Maybe Riot has grown too big to be as player focused as it was before.

Maybe I'm expecting too much.

Riot just won't speak about. They just want to keep avoiding questions like this so let them keep ignoring the community. It's going to backfire on their part.

I still have hope that Riot's Lore department has some sense. I really care about this game.

It helped form some friendships that are really important to me.

I want to see it succeed longterm!

That's the reason I post.

I see Riot taking their lore direction in a way that isn't timeless, but dated.

I don't want that.

Ask yourself, how many of the newly released champions are, or have the potential to be, as iconic as the original ones?

Almost none, depending on opinion. (None in my opinion at least.)

If we don't hold Riot to a high standard, they will get lazy, and will produce shitty lore.

They have shown us this.

Players making posts trying to hold RIot to a higher standard only benefits Riots...assuming they actually listen.

Also consider the level of character development the newer champions get.

In my opinion, lore development for the newer champions is inferior to the champions that were developed while the Institute of War still existed.

I understand but it doesnt help. They wont hop on any thread like this because they dont want to answer questions like this. They also don't have a Narrative.
