Nah, let's throw in Lux who had ultimate skin relatively recently.

I am surprised there's no Lunar Ahri instead of WW, tbh, she fits the theme so greatly.

In the lunar revel event, they throw in champions which fit the zodiac of the year and then fill some space with champs who don't fit in any zodiac naturally.

Last year was Azir as the rooster, Garen and Vi as simple humans for filling. This year we get Nasus and Warwick, fitting the dog zodiac. Lux is just another simple human filler.

Aurelion Sol fits obviously into one of the Chinese zodiacs: dragon. It makes sense that he doesn't get the skin until we arrived the year of the dragon, which will be 2024. You won't see Aurelion Sol next year. It is the year of the pig, so most likely we get Sejuani and 2 fillers again.

People have to accept that Riot is following themes and concepts here. If there is a year of the dragon, it makes the most sense for Aurelion Sol to get the skin in that time and not earlier.

Also they turned mog maw into dog didnt they? Literally all riot has to do is give sol a thinner muzzle and ears and boom he could pass as a dog, zoe calls him a space dog any damn ways. Theres is absolutely no excuse as to why he didnt get the lunar skin riot is just a bunch of assholes thats all.

Hell i might not even be alive in 6 years to see the skin if league is still going strong by then.

There is no point. If LoL stops to exist at that point in the future before Aurelion Sol has a lunar revel skin, so be it. No reason to force nonsense.

I don't share your opinion, sorry. I wouldn't like if they turned Aurelion Sol into a dog, just to put him in the lunar revel skin line now, instead of waiting for the time he would fit in naturally.

There is a year of the dragon, it is the logical choice for him. I understand that the situation is frustrating for Sol, but they can still give him a different skin soonish.

I'm glad sol didn't get shoehorned into a lackluster skin line. Take star dragon, make him Chinese dragon. Would of been pathetic and very uninspired.

If they went with the logic "we want something different this year" as they did with Halloween skins (despite the fact it was still Harrowing), the skinline this year didn't have to be just gold-white and so the Lunar Sol skin wouldn't seem like "just chinese dragon", especially since he already is one due to body shape. My bet was that they lazyly (in their crativeness) went with the gold-white design they used several times and thought it would interfere with Sol's release skin.

To be fair, it's much easier to make concepts for characters like "knight who wields a sword" and "light mage" than it is for "cosmic space dragon" and "girl who worships a tentacle god". Low playrate doesn't really help.

Still though, I really want an Aurelion Sol skin. Or a Taliyah skin.

Well, for Aurelion there are at least 3 easy concepts such as Dark Star, Haunting and something related to Japanese New Year or said Lunar Revel.

But whatever, Sol isn't very popular atm and Illaoi has Battlecast (that looks more like a Dreadnova but whatever), going for her.

Riot has made graphs that show when champs get great skins, their player base and popularity goes up. I'm sure Dragontrainer tristana brought an immense amount of ppl to play tristana when they never had before (I know it did for me) and Star guardian skins and project skins do too. Taliyah has been influential and consistent in upper level play and proplay. I hope they grant her an incredibly amazing skin soon. She deserves it.

I too think they should make some better skins for newer champs or older neglected champs (i.e. Urgot, Shen, Jarvan IV, etc.)

For all we know, they’ve cancelled several skins for champions because they’re too difficult to make. The dragon Zyra one for example was a challenge, and they’re showing how difficult the Illaoi one is too.

I wouldn’t expect to see many Kayn skins either.

Aurelions concept isn't really that troublesome though,because the only thing that really matters for his skins is the fact that he is a chinese dragon.

And honestly making a lunar-revel skin for the chinese dragon is kind of a nobrainer(and actually not redundant,because Aurelion barely has chinese elments in his regular skin).

I admit though that Illaoi is a lot more troublesome.

The only problem I have with that is that the year of the dragon is still far away,the next ones are gonna be Pig(Sejuani?),Rat(Twitch?),Ox(Alistar),Tiger(Nidalee/Rengar?) and Rabbit(hopefully we have an actual rabbit champ til then),so if they'd wait for the year of the dragon,they'd have to wait 6 years until they give him that skin...

I'm not jumping bandwagon, I was always at the one calling out these memes they put out. And I understand it, it's still ridiculous. Plus they gain money from Icons, Emotes, Champions (which WAS directly said as one of their important revenue sources), Wards, Mission Passes.

Let us not pretend one such skin would suddenly make them bancrupt. Understand that business model is more complicated than that before your repeat the argument everyone already heard.

We understand. This argument doesn't work if you consider Vayne has had only 2 skins in 2.5 years. She is one of the most most played champ in the game and has been for years. One of those skins was locked from most people in the loot system, so it's even 1 skin in 2.5 years for most people. If it's really done by popularity, Vayne would have a skin every 3 months.

I dread speaking bad about Riot after they finally gave my favorite doggo a new skin... but Lux was complete bullshit. I understand needing a champion with a high playrate to boost sales, but why choose one that already got an ultimate skin? Only thing I can think is that Lunar Revel Lux is actually just a left over concept for one of the Elementalist designs that riot decided not to go with. That way they save some money. Otherwise there are more widely played champions that haven't recently received a skin recently Kayn JarvanIV Lulu

she got the skin on early preseason 7 and season 7 ended not that long ago , so the time gap was a whole season and few weeks and yeah it is recently for a league skin plus it was an ultimate skin with many diffirent looks.

Aurelion Sol just missed the year of the Dragon. If we really want to wait for his proper year, then expect a Lunar skin for him in 2024. Of course this is way to long, so he has to get skins before that (preferebly a lightning inspired skin).
