@Riot: Future for Ahri's lore?

I wanted to ask what ideas, if any, there might be for a future lore re-write for Ahri. I think one of the biggest issues is that she's not strongly tied to Ionia or to anyone in particular, so if you remove the League from her story she hasn't got much reason to be fighting random battles against the other champions.

Also Malphite, Taric, Kayle, Morgana, Orianna, Maokai who all had heavy ties to the IoW.

That too, but they retconned Maokai's lore to remove the League.

Now he is a fairy with a buttload of lines that make zero sense to his character lel

Fair enough, i was actually going to conclude my post, but was in a hurry.

The gameplay itself has been confirmed as being non-canon now, since the great retcon, so Ahri isnt actually fighting anyone. As far as we all know, she is still in Ionia fighting her urge to steal souls while occasionaly hanging out with Wukong.

I don't get Ahri's relation with Wukong. Is it because they are both animals that developed a more human form due to magic, maybe from the Rune War?, and they see the similarity between them?

As of the retcon, the game is no longer tied to the lore/world. What I mean is, in the lore Ahri isn't battling random champions. None of the battles we play exist in the world. We are just playing a game using a roster of characters from a world, but the game is not part of the world.

The new lore, she's a fox lady that seduces people to kill them to steal their essence.

Same as the old lore, minus the interesting perspective of a change in form resulting in a change of ethical approach (as Ahri became human in form, she became more human in thought and consequently she developed a more human sense of morality) and the IoW.
