This just reeks of greed. The only way to get the Red Chroma's is to buy the bundle, meaning that you gotta pay 700 more RP just to get them if you don't want the other Chroma's. There is no reason to do this other than to milk more money.
Of course the first Warwick Skin you release is a limited one and the best Chroma for it is behind a bundle paywall
Exactly what I was thinking. This whole event so far is being poorly handled and it's only been out for a few hours. Most things that people want are behind a bundle with things others don't want or some form of crafting, which you can't get enough of if you do the missions and want to get one of those gold chromas for free.
This whole event is just shameful so far.
The only ones that really peeved me were the ward bundles.
I can kind of see the reasoning behind the chromas being locked behind a bundle, it makes it rarer and you get all of the other chromas with it. However, what the actual hell is with the ward one? What do wards have to do with garbage gambling boxes? [sg-lux-2]
Events primary focus should be getting people to play the game more than they usually would. Hots lunar event achieves this since all their content can be obtained for free by just playing the game allot. league just wants my money and that feels bad so i know what game ill be playing for the next few weeks.
All of the content is locked behind bundles that makes you pay for stuff you have 0 interest in. Same with ward skins and the icons. It is really disappointing because this way I have no interested in getting the content.
It seems Riot won't change their mind though, considering they have been doing it for multiple events in a row now. It only seems to be getting worse.
Because impulse buyers with mommy's credit card are more likely to shell out for red things according to market research (probably)
Because Riot, despite owning the most popular MOBA in the world rn and making bank off of it, needs more money to fund their small privately owned business. TBH, they probably believe in trickle-down economics.
Anyhoo, unless you're dead set on those Ruby chromas, you could just...not buy the bundle? Like, I'm 100% buying Lunar Empress Lux...but like, I can pass on the Ruby chroma. If I wanted to be Firebender Lux, I'd get the Elementalist skin. Otherwise, I really like her Turquoise chroma, so I'm probably only going to buy that.
