Question about new World Breaker Trundle skin

Does anyone else feel like it looks weird (a little late now I know to ask) that he hits with the broad side of his club? I guess it isn't a hammer.

I think it is weird that they are releasing Mayan/Aztec inspired skins in 2016.

Would've made more sense four years ago!
