Is Mordekaiser's backstory being written to fit the Lightbringer?

It's just a wild thought and not something I actually do believe is happening, but... Is Mordekaiser's lore being rewritten to become the Lightbringer from Pentakill's song?

Let's go back to 2014... Since I loved Lightbringer, I always tried to search for some lore implications within it. Since Mordekaiser has always been my favorite I tried to tie it with his lore... But it just didn't work. Nothing did fit. Nothing to reclaim, no betrayal, no kingdom... Back then Mordekaiser still had his old lore - a pretty vague one, citing him as The Pain Paladin, connecting him with sickness and suffering... It wasn't even clear whether he was an undead or just a force of nature; the personification of pain.

It all changed in 2015. Mordekaiser was now revealed to be an ancient warking. An overlord who ruled over half the continent. He had been defeated and was gone for a long time, before being once again revived during the Ruination. He had also been said by Riot to dislike his own undeath and want to become human again, so he could be immortal through other means. After this change a big part of the song now made sense. The parts about reclaiming something that once was his, much more being left to avenge, etc. corresponded well with his lost kingdom. His distaste for his own undeath, but a craving for life eternal could very well fit with choruses...

I didn't think much of it back then, because at that point I abandoned all pretense that Lightbringer had any lore implications in it's lyrics... And there was still one part of the song that didn't click. The Betrayal.

What piqued my interest in this topic again? LeBlanc's lore. With the LeBlanc lore change early 2018, Mordekaiser was now revealed to have lost his kingdom not because of his defeat itself, but because of LeBlanc's betrayal.

With this Lightbringer is suddenly a lot more relevant... Now Mordekaiser is someone who wants to reclaim a land that was once his, that he had lost due to a betrayal. Someone who wants to achieve eternal glory and power of immortality, but through other means than undeath, trying to undo the curse that he laid upon himself.

So what will we see next? Will Mordekaiser's next lore reveal he started hating all undeath, wanting to purge it once he achieves his goals? Or will Mordekaiser use a promise of undoing the Ruination as a rallying cry for all the undead whose minds weren't corrupted by the mist? Or does this theory hold no water and the gathering similarities are just coincidences?

Once again it's not something I really believe... It's something that I want to believe. I am hardwired to, because of my love for both Morde and Lightbringer.

As a small bonus, here's my recent Mordekaiser academy/casual/instant/howeveryouwanttocallit cosplay. https://i.imgur.com/JDasBX5.jpg

Made the helmet and then kinda tried to think of some clothes that could possibly fit (without showing my bare chest... Or rather my big fat belly).

Pls don't make him a heavy metalist in-lore. Also Morde is supposed to be evil and dark.

When did they say that Mordekaiser hated to be undead? If anything his lore states the opposite: "He looks down upon these newly formed undying spirits as a lesser breed, for he chose his path freely, while these others are merely lost souls."

Never listened to the song, I always thought it would just be a reference to the item. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lightbringer
